Assembling a heating radiator with your own hands:

The need for assembly and disassembly of the heating structure arises when one of the sections gave a leak, even if you want to save on the assembly of the entire complex, if necessary, increase the sections, since you initially “missed” with their counting. As you can see, the reasons are many, they are less important than the process to which our instructions are dedicated.

A lot of batteries, but one assembly method

We would like to remind you that batteries can be of several types according to the materials:

• Cast iron;
• Bimetallic;
• Aluminum;
• Steel.

And several types of designs:

• Panel;
• Sectional.

Note! The secret is simple: the method of assembling various radiators is the same + the method of tying radiators is also the same. Therefore, today's material is universal for all types of batteries.

Let's start with sections

We will carry out the assembly on the example of sectional batteries. In order to somehow supplement the information, let us analyze the moments of binding radiators, especially since they are of the same type for sectional and panel heaters.

Strapping starts with the distribution of roles:

1. On each radiator, regardless of the type, there are four threaded entrances. Our task is to determine the input-output circuit of the coolant for the correct placement of plugs and proper connection of the element to the network;

Tip! If you make the usual replacement of the radiator, then you do not need to invent anything. You do everything in the likeness of the previous radiator. Upper entrance, lower exit. The opposite upper threaded hole is a through-plug with a Mayevsky valve. The opposite lower threaded outlet is a blind plug.

1. Roles are distributed. We make assembly:

• The beginning is the connection of the Mayevsky crane and the blind plug. For these purposes, suitable flax fiber and a special paste for sealing threaded connections;
• The fiber is wound in even strands without lumps and ridges in the opposite direction to the thread of the caps;

• Then the paste fixes this fiber in place;
• With a wrench, the plugs are installed in place.

Tip! On sale there are special keys with shaped notches for the basic parameters of the installation kit. For the binding of the radiator, the adjustable wrench will be enough, although its capacity will not be enough for plugs for cast-iron radiators. Then you still need the gas key.

• Slightly more difficult with the entrance of water and drainage. Today, batteries are installed taps, called American, this connection with a cap nut provides the most reliable connection. Their installation is as follows:
• The threaded part entering the radiator is shaped in the same way as already described - with fiber and paste;

Recommendations! Flax and paste can be replaced with FUM tape, so many advise. Indeed it is possible, but it must be done competently. Such replacement is possible in homes and apartments where there is an autonomous heating system, where the coolant pressure in the network is low enough - the circuit is closed. FUM tape in such conditions feels very comfortable. When pressure jumps, frequent guests of the overall heat supply system, the tape may break. The result is clear - to flow.

• Spinning American is not an ordinary gas key, and a hexagon.

Tip! In many video materials, you can see how an American is twisted with a chisel, a square pin, and even one grab from a pair of pliers. We do not undertake to judge how justified this is, but the native key is still better.

Section connection

To do this, we need nipples - special section connectors with a rubber sealing ring, as well as keys for tightening the nipples.

Our help! Nipple is a type of connection, represented by a pipe section with a central transverse groove for a rubber seal. From the furrow go ridges with thread to the right and left side. This design allows you to twist the connector into the threaded sockets with the simultaneous arch of the radiator fins to each other.

How to assemble a section of heating radiator?

The assembly algorithm is simple:

• The assembly of sections of aluminum radiators, as well as the assembly of bimetallic heating radiators with their own hands, begins with “baiting” nipples in threaded holes;

Tip! If you connect two sections, the docking windows should have: one - the right thread, the other - the left.

• The assembly of aluminum radiators, as well as the assembly of cast-iron radiators with their own hands, is carried out by uniformly tightening the threaded connections of the nipple and sections using special keys;

Observation! Work on the installation of the battery is best done together. This is both easier and easier to control.

• After docking the required number of sections, the assembly of the aluminum radiator, like any other, is carried out according to the binding scheme, which has already been described.

A few words about the mount

We have already described how to assemble bimetallic radiators, how to assemble an aluminum radiator. The type of the designer is unimportant, the assembly of the ribs is done on a similar principle with their own hands. And here it’s also better to work together.

Tip! If you change, for example, a cast-iron radiator on a steel panel, then the types of fastenings of cast-iron structures will not work for you. They need to be removed, and new installed. Fortunately in the sets of panel heaters they are. And while one person will carry out the rough docking, the second can mark the places of future fixings.

In the piggy bank. If you connect the battery not to the riser, but connect it to the autonomy, then the masters advise you to make a small inclination of the battery about 5 degrees so that the Mayevsky valve is slightly higher than the input connection with the flow of the heat carrier. The result of such a connection is that if the air will accumulate in the system, then it is at the faucet, and not located above the water flow along the entire perimeter of the pipe.
