Cast iron radiators ms-140: technical characteristics and
At the moment in our country as a heating device is the most common cast-iron radiator MS-140. Reliability, durability and practicality of this device has been tested in practice for many decades. The production technologies of these batteries are already outdated, but they still heat tens of thousands of dwellings, administrative, office, commercial, industrial and public buildings throughout Russia.
Total information
Batteries offered by manufacturers differ in the number of sections.
They are made:
- in 10 sections;
- in 7-section execution;
- in 4 sections.
Note! A different number of sections allows you to put a cast iron radiator in rooms with different sizes. That is, you can choose a device that will be optimally suitable for a particular room.
Varieties of MC brand batteries
In order to compete with more modern types of devices, manufacturers of cast iron heating batteries had to expand this product line.
At the moment, the following models are presented on the Russian market.
- Cast iron radiators MS-140-500 are manufactured by the Republic of Belarus. This device has undergone several improvements. Now its surface, as a rule, has a flat view. In addition, the product is delivered already painted in different colors.
- Battery MS-140-500 for 7 heating elements. This is a frontal version of the previous model.
- Analogue MC-140-300. This device is distinguished by a gap between nipples of 300 millimeters.
- Model МС-140-108 does not require substantial maintenance and does not require constant maintenance.
- Cast-iron radiators heating mark MS-140-180 and 98 have gaps between the nipples of 108 and 98 millimeters. Produced devices, like the previous one, Russia and Ukraine.
Thanks to such a wide choice of products, property owners can arrange the heating in the house in an optimal way.
Qualities and characteristics
The described heating devices are designed to transfer thermal energy from the heating system to public, residential, industrial and other buildings. They are designed for coolant temperature up to +130 degrees and working (excess) pressure of the medium up to 0.9 MPa. The products are manufactured according to State Standard No.31311 / 2005, as well as Technical Specifications No. 4935/005/00288372/05.
The advantages of cast iron batteries
- High degree of corrosion resistance. This quality of cast iron is due to the fact that during operation, "dry rust" builds up on its surface. It also protects the material from corrosion.
- Cast iron has good wear resistance.. Dirt and debris inside the system does not harm him.
- Excellent level of thermal inertia. Cast iron batteries, after 60 minutes after switching off the heating, retain about 30 percent of the heat. In steel analogues, this parameter is only 15 percent.
- Very long service life. A quality device can last about 100 years. Manufacturers guarantee 15/25 years of trouble-free service.
- Large section of the internal space of sections. Because of this, batteries need to be cleaned only once every few years.
Note! Cast iron, due to its structure, cannot be a catalyst for the electrochemical type of corrosion. In other words - the material does not conflict with steel and plastic heating pipes.
- The price of such heaters is relatively small..
Characteristics of radiators
Now a little about the technical properties of these products. They are slightly different for all models of the MC brand. As an example, we present data on the batteries MC-140-98.
Parameter | Value |
Manufacturer country | Russia Ukraine |
Coolant temperature | +130 degrees Celsius |
Working pressure | 9 bar |
Pressure (Opressovoe) | 15 bar |
Battery Type | sectional |
The number of channels in one section | 2 |
Heat carrier volume in one section | 1.35 liters |
Thermal return of one section | 175 watts |
Mass of one element | 6.2 kg |
Width of one section | 98 mm |
Nipple hole cross section | 5/4 inch |
Gasket material between sections | heat resistant rubber type |
Material of traffic jams and sections | gray cast iron MF / 10 (according to State standard No. 1412) |
Material for nipples | malleable cast iron KCh / 30 / 6F (according to State no. 1215) or steel 08 / KP, 08 / PS (according to State no. 1050) |
Threaded hole | G-1 1/4 |
Note! The instruction says that due to the thinness of the thickness of the walls of radiator elements, it is forbidden to categorically throw heating appliances. Due to jolts during shipment, devices may experience loosening of nipple connections.
Based on this, before starting the heating system, it is necessary to carry out pressure testing (hydraulic testing) of the batteries with your own hands. If they flow anywhere, it will be necessary to tighten the nipples in these places.
Radiators are always equipped with two plugs (through passage) with a right-hand thread and two stoppers (deaf) with a left-hand thread, half a inch. By the separate order the complete set can be changed.
Conclusion
Cast iron batteries, despite the fact that now more modern devices are used, have not lost their relevance to the present day. They are reliable, durable and fairly cheap. The video in the article will continue this topic.
