Energy-saving heating systems

Heating

For many years, people tend to spend less energy, but at the same time maintain the level of heating at the same level. To say that it’s enough just to achieve fuel economy would be wrong.

In certain periods of the year, domestic, social, administrative and industrial premises are required to be heated, therefore the issue of economical and energy-saving heating is quite acute, especially in modern conditions, when the cost of energy resources is steadily increasing.

It can be said that energy-saving heating systems are those systems in which the coolant, having given off heat, returned to the boiler as warm as possible. Then for its reheating will require less fuel. Energy saving is a set of measures that relate to equipment, heating systems, and buildings. To achieve the maximum effect you need to work in all these areas. But first things first.

How heating equipment can save

How to save

Modern heating equipment, among other characteristics, is distinguished by its cost effectiveness. Manufacturers have long understood that the desire to save the consumer must be satisfied, otherwise no one will buy "voracious" equipment. Therefore, for each type of fuel designed such boilers:

Gas - turbocharged and condensing boilers. They are equipped with auto ignition (the wick does not burn all the time) and a modular burner that regulates the level of the flame. You can purchase a dual-circuit model, then in addition to heating there will be hot water. If you mount a boiler indirect heating for water, you can achieve additional savings.

Copper pyrolysis solid fuel Ziehbart

Solid fuel - pyrolysis solid fuel boilers. They do not burn fuel, but smoldering. Work on wood, coal, briquettes. Thanks to the smoldering process, the efficiency of the boiler reached 92% (previously, solid-fuel boilers produced no more than 76%).

Infrared heating

Electricity - infrared and quartz heaters. The former use wave heating, and the latter are heated by heating quartz sand. In general, one can speak about economical electric heaters only by comparing them with each other.

Solar heating

Alternative sources of heating - heat pumps, solar panels, solar water heating. Heat pumps are powered by electricity. There are geothermal and air. Some "extract" heat from deep wells (depth up to 200 meters), while others heat the heat from the air. At 3 kW of heat generated, these pumps consume 1 kW of electricity. Solar panels, due to their design, accumulate the energy of the luminary. Fans air is driven through the heating elements and is fed into the room. In water heating solar systems, the sun heats the water, which is then used for heating and water supply.

If we compare boilers for different types of fuel among themselves according to the size of fuel economy, the most profitable are gas boilers. It should also be noted that the quality of the fuel used has a great influence on the amount of savings.

Economical heating systems

There is not much progress. Savings can be achieved:

  • By using radiators with greater heat transfer (aluminum, bimetallic, copper-aluminum).
  • Correctly calculating the diameter of pipes, boiler power, the number of radiators and the required amount of water for heating.
  • Maximizing the length of the heating system by connecting radiators to the lower plugs and dividing the system into several branches or mounting distribution manifolds.
  • If the heating system to include a circulating pump. This will give about 10% savings.
  • If you install a thermostat on each radiator, connect temperature sensors to the heating system that will read the temperature inside and outside the house and, depending on its size, regulate the heating of the heat carrier.

What system to choose for the heating of your home should be given to you by an experienced heating technician. It is he who can make the necessary calculations, outline the installation sites for heating devices (radiators), calculate the installation of a heated floor and the laying of heating pipes. By the way, the use of warm water floors can reduce the temperature of the coolant by three to four degrees and save up to 10% of fuel.

How to keep warm

Installation of a metalplastic window

A very important aspect of an energy-efficient heating system is the preservation of heat inside the building. Because little heat to develop, it must also be rationally used. After all, when you heat the street, then what kind of fuel economy can we talk about.

To reduce heat loss through walls, windows, doors, roofs, the foundation must be insulated. The walls are sheathed outside with foam 10 cm wide from the foundation to the roof. In the attic lay out a layer of insulation. Windows choose with the maximum coefficient of thermal protection. Exterior doors can be insulated with a special seal.
