Heating wood stoves to give - the key to a comfortable rest
Despite the proximity to civilization, not all the dachas can boast a stable power supply, and the gas most often has to be forgotten altogether. In such conditions, there are not so many options for heating homes, and using compact heating stoves can be called an ideal solution.

The advantages of heating to give firewood
At cost, of course, gas is unrivaled, but if the village is not gasified, then firewood is the best option.
The use of wood heating allows you to:
- to save on fuel, even purchased firewood will cost not so much in comparison, for example, with electric heating;

Note! If there are dry trees around the site, then no one bothers to procure a supply of fuel for the winter with their own hands, the costs in this case are completely zero.
- do not spend money on the installation of water heating, even a simple stove can warm a small room;
- the metal stove heats up quickly, so that after a couple of minutes after ignition, the room will start to receive heat.
There are drawbacks too, but to call them critical language will not turn:
- if it is planned to spend a lot of time at the dacha in winter time, then the fuel supply should be significant. So, it is necessary to foresee a storage place, protected from precipitation;

- in a conventional stove, firewood burns out pretty quickly, so you need to be constantly alert and throw firewood in the stove in time;
- when using simple models of stoves, the efficiency is quite low, along with the smoke goes a significant part of the thermal energy.

At first glance, there should not be any special differences in the design of such devices - firewood is simply burned in the firebox, and the resulting heat is partially used to heat the house, and some of it is removed together with the smoke. In general, the whole process proceeds according to such a scheme, but manufacturers resort to various tricks to improve efficiency.
Types of wood stoves
Wood heating furnaces for summer cottage are classified according to the method of burning fuel.
It is possible to distinguish such types of furnaces as:
- simple ordinary potbelly stove. In such devices, firewood is simply burned in the furnace, heating the metal, the pipe is output through the wall to the outside. They are characterized by low efficiency and cost, given the relatively low efficiency, suitable rather for irregular heating of small country houses;
- long burning - in such devices the furnace is divided into 2 zones - in one there is burning (or rather, smoldering) of fuel, in the other - afterburning of hydrolytic gas. Compared to single-sinew "brothers", they work much longer on one load (from 5-6 hours). The efficiency of such a furnace is also higher, which means that the cost of purchasing firewood will decrease. A small drawback can be considered unless the price of such a device.

Note! Such stoves, despite their compact dimensions, may additionally be equipped with cooking surfaces. So, in addition to heating, you can always cook food.
- convection heaters - are distinguished by the most rapid heating of the room. The main feature of the design is the pipes that pass through the furnace over the entire height. From below, cool air from the room enters them, passing through a pipe, it heats up due to which it warms the air;

- pellet stoves - work on pellets (recycled waste wood industry). They differ from the usual ones by the presence of a tank for fuel; this allows the pellets to be loaded less frequently;

- Speaking of wood heating, ordinary brick stoves are definitely worth mentioning.. But the price of such structures does not allow to consider them as an acceptable option for the heating problem. In addition, not every master can build a brick oven correctly, and the slightest violation of the geometry of the chimney can lead to problems with the burden. Purchased versions of these shortcomings are deprived.
The principle of operation of the stove long burning
Greater efficiency in such devices is achieved by burning in a separate chamber of pyrolysis gas, which is released during heating and burning of firewood under conditions of low oxygen supply.
All factory devices of this type can work in 2 modes:
- normal burning - while the access of oxygen to the furnace is not limited - is used if necessary, for example, to cook food;
- long burning (heating mode) - in this case, the ash door closes, oxygen enters the furnace in a small volume. From here and sluggish smoldering of firewood, pyrolysis gas rises in the second chamber and burns there. According to this principle, not only furnaces, but also wood fired boilers work.
If it is necessary to provide heating for the dacha with firewood for a long time, then instead of a compact stove, boilers working on wood or pellets can be used. Modern models allow you to connect not only water heating, but also pipes for supplying hot water, but taking into account the costs, this option can be advised only for houses in which permanent residence in the winter period is planned.

General rules for the installation of wood stoves
When installing special attention is paid to fire safety, after all, the stove is in the room and even a small fallen coal can cause a lot of trouble.
In general, the installation manual looks like this:
- Given the low weight, a separate foundation for the stove is not needed. The most budget option of the base - just attach to the floor a sheet of stainless steel with a minimum thickness of 0.8 mm. The minimum distance in the plan from the edge of the furnace to the edge of the sheet should be 0.7 m. You can arrange a small podium made of wood and sheathe it, for example, asbestos sheets;

- if there are wooden walls not far from the walls, you need to install heat-reflecting screens (the same asbestos sheets will do);
- special attention is paid to the chimney, you can go two ways. The easiest way is to take him outside through the wall. But you can also put the pipe on the roof, in this case, the place of passage through the overlap and the roof must be further insulated.

It is recommended to use ready-made sandwich chimneys. This will facilitate the installation process and guarantees high-quality insulation. The design looks like a pipe in a pipe, and there is a heater between them.
Note! The pipe section extending from the stove is not thermally insulated. Too high a temperature of gases can lead to sintering mineral wool into the stone mass, which can damage the metal.
Summarizing
At the cottage you can and should relax not only in summer, but also in other seasons. True, a comfortable rest will be only if an effective heating of a country house is organized.
With water heating in the country it makes no sense to mess around, so compact wood-burning stoves are a salvation for any summer resident. The video shows the design of a self-made wood stove long burning.
