From the bottom of the stem there is a rubber sealing ring, which flattens out over time and this is the most frequent cause of the valve failure (the instruction allows you to make a lining under the ring or change it).
• But the worm gear box for adjustment can only have a flywheel for the mixer (lamb), since the number of its turns can reach 10 and it is too inconvenient to do it with a lever.
• In such valves, the rubber valve is mounted on the lower end of the stem, which regulates the flow rate, or completely blocks it, and this stem moves up and down due to the worm gear. The most frequent reason for the failure of such a box is the wear of a rubber valve, which can be replaced by a new one, and it can also be cut out of thick and thick rubber with your own hands.

Note. It should be noted that the lubricant for the mixer is used only for the fat chamber of the worm gear box axle box. Otherwise, such a device does not need it.

• If a joystick is used to adjust the mixer, it means, whether it is a wall mounted or surface mounted installation, in any case, either a cartridge or a ball valve will stand there as a shut-off valve.

• If the valve is equipped with ball valves, then its price will be slightly higher. - this is due to the fact that such a mechanism is considered more reliable, therefore, its service life increases. The bowl has three holes, two of which are designed to pass hot and cold water into the mixing chamber, and the third serves to exit the mixture through the spout.
• Adjusting the flow of cold and hot water by turning the ball around the vertical axis - at this time, the two inlets open in full or in part, and the intensity of the pressure is carried out by turning on the horizontal axis - the opening cross-section is adjustable or completely blocked.

• According to the assembly design, the crane with the cartridge is almost the same as the ball valve; just another mechanism stands as a shut-off valve.. And the principle of action of constipation is also similar to a ball - there are two inlets and one outlet in the cartridge, the cross section of which is regulated by a plate.

Installation and auxiliary accessories

When a near-wall installation is made, then for this, the pipe installation and the cold and hot water fittings on the inlet should be used as water outlets for the mixer.

Often for this purpose, mounting strips are used, which can be not only for polypropylene, but also for metal-based laminate. In order to avoid visible joints on the wall, decorative dome-shaped washers or cups for the mixer are installed there.

For the most convenient wall installation, it is necessary that the edge of the fitting be flush with the decorative wall covering. But sometimes in the process of repair plans change, and such fittings may be recessed inside, sometimes by 2-3 cm or even more.

But such situations are fixable - here an extension cord for the mixer is used, which you can choose according to the length you need and bring the inlets for the eccentrics flush with the surface.

For installation on sinks and sinks, the water pipes are connected to the tap with the help of hoses, the ends of which are equipped with special connecting fittings.

However, in those cases when metal-based laminate is used, you need a collet clamp for a mixer or a needle for a metal-plastic pipe, which you see in the upper photo.

To save water, a special mesh is installed for the mixer, called an aerator. This device saturates the stream with air, as a result of which the pressure does not weaken, and the amount of water decreases (such a device is also called an economist).

But in most cases, aerators are made with external thread and, if the spout is also with external thread, then problems may arise that are solved with the help of adapters.

If you live in the private sector and you need to water the garden, for this you can fasten the fitting for the mixer to the spout, the hose of the desired length can be put on the discharge pipe. Only at purchase do not forget to combine diameter of a hose and the union.

If the spout of the spout with an aerator has an external thread, then their connection is possible using a coupling adapter - this adapter should be purchased taking into account the pitch and diameter of the thread at both ends of the connection.
