Local sewage: how to effectively dispose of household
Living in the lap of nature away from the bustle of the big city, undoubtedly, has many positive moments. But there are difficulties. The latter, in particular, include the complete absence of centralized engineering networks. Therefore, the only way to recycle wastewater is local sewage.
Planning stage
The device of the local sewage system in a private house should begin with deciding whether you will do all the work yourself or entrust this rather complicated process to specialists. The latter method is more preferable, but the price of the services provided by the construction crews can stop many.
But home craftsmen who do not have extensive experience in construction work should not be frightened by local sewerage - what it is and how to construct it yourself will be described in detail in this material.
Moreover, the principle of the device of this hydraulic object does not depend on which method is selected for disposal. The main problems always arise during the construction of a storage tank, which simultaneously performs the role of a sewage treatment plant.
Independent construction of local sewage
Stage 1. Well location
The location for the installation of the sump should be chosen very carefully.
There are two common options:
- Maximum distance from home. In this case, check that the drain pipe is at the right angle. According to the SNiP, the slope should be at least 3% per meter of length. Accordingly, the farther from home you will build a collector, the more deep it should be.
- Not far from home. It is necessary to take care of the complete tightness of the well, as well as the installation of the ventilation pipe, the upper edge of which will be located above all windows. Biogas is lighter than air, because you will not smell.
In addition, the instructions for the construction of such facilities requires compliance with the following minimum distances from various objects:
- from the source of drinking water - 50 m;
- from a residential building - 4 m;
- from the public road - 5 m;
- from trees - 3 m;
- from the reservoir or open water - 30 m;
- from the stream - 10 m;
- from the boundary of the site - 5 m.
Tip! Local sewage for a country house should be designed and constructed so as to provide free access to the sump of the waste collection machine, carrying out pumping of accumulated waste.
Stage 2. Selection of materials
For the construction of the collector well will need the following building materials:
- finished concrete rings (their diameter and quantity is calculated based on the planned volume of sewage discharges, as well as the height of the flow of groundwater in a particular area);
- sewer well cover complete with cast iron hatch;
- bottoms of rings, suitable for diameter;
- several additional elements for constructing a well of the required depth;
- rings for mounting the internal compartment of the well (septic tank);
- cement, sand and crushed stone with a large fraction;
- plastic pipe with a diameter of 100 to 200 mm.
Stage 3. Construction work
Local sewage treatment is constructed in the following sequence:
- The pit of the necessary size digs. It is desirable that the process takes place without long breaks. Otherwise, the unfinished pit should be protected in order to avoid accidents. In addition, it is advisable to protect it from rainfall that can cause the collapse of the unfortified walls of the well.
Tip! Before starting work, you should decide what to do with the excavated soil. It can be distributed evenly in the garden or in the garden, or when the land is not suitable for growing plants, take it out of the plot.
- The recommended depth of the pit is to the height of four rings (the size depends on the number of residents and the intensity of using the benefits of civilization). Space should also be provided for the cushion. It will go rubble mixed with sand and cement. All this should be carefully tamped.
- Then set the concrete bottom on which the rings are laid. Control that the vertical and horizontal is respected. If necessary, the walls of the pit should be trimmed.
- Rings should be in this order:
- the lower ring of the outer well;
- the lower ring of the internal septic tank;
- the second ring of the outer well;
- the second ring sewer septic tank and so on, until you reach the top cut of the soil.
- The pipe is laid between the first one on top and the concrete ring that follows it. The pipe cut must reach the inner well.
- Then the covers and hatches are installed, after which all the parts are carefully cemented.
- To achieve maximum tightness, seams and joints can be missed with silicone sealant.
- After solidification of the compositions, the well from the outside is filled up with earth, which is carefully compacted.
Remember that local sewage systems with cumulative wells require periodic cleaning. To do this, use special equipment and transport.
The principle of local cleaning systems
The essence of all sewage systems of the collector type is the same - a hole is dug for the accumulation of waste and is protected by natural or artificial stone. Also for this purpose, special plastic containers can be used.
Better when the inner space is divided into several compartments with lattice partitions.
Inlet and outlet pipes should be located at opposite ends. Also, do not forget about ventilation. These openings should be protected from precipitation.
For more efficient operation of such a system, additional devices and devices may be used:
- filters separating fractions of different density and composition from each other;
- pumps that provide faster cleaning;
- aerators.
Some exit systems provide water that is so pure that it can be used for watering plants or other household needs (not for drinking or cooking).
Conclusion
Local sewage is an effective way to clean and dispose of sewage in a country house. Having built a reliable and capacious drainage well once, you will avoid problems with its clogging and cleaning in the future. You can learn more about this question from the video in this article.
