They differ in cheapness, reliability and durability. Let us consider in more detail how the installation of metal-plastic pipes should be done so that the installed engineering network does not give you any trouble.

The cost of the metal-plastic pipe is low, however, a considerable part of the costs during the installation of plumbing and heating accounts for the services of workers who will install this system in your home. Meanwhile, the process does not cause difficulties and is quite feasible with his own hands.
The sequence of actions in this case is as follows:
- First of all, with the help of a tape measure and a marker, you should mark the acquired pipe into sections of the required length, which will serve as components of the future water supply system.
- Cut with special scissors or a hacksaw.. In the latter case, you need to ensure that the cut was made strictly perpendicular. In addition, the end face should be cleaned from the formed burrs, which can subsequently break the tightness of the docking station and shorten the service life of metal-plastic pipes.

- After that, the pipe is calibrated and chamfered from its inner surface.. For this purpose, special tools are used, the size of which is selected on the basis of the diameter of the materials used.

- Before you install metal-plastic pipes, you should make sure that there are rubber sealing rings in the fittings.. In addition, you need to check the integrity of the PTFE gasket, which is necessary for the installation of press fittings.
- After that, the fitting fitting is fully inserted into the metal-plastic pipe.. It is necessary that the part appears in the control slots specially provided for this.

- Then you should prepare to work the press.. To do this, they put on it sponges, corresponding to the diameter of the water pipes, and check the density of their joining. The free running of the handles must remain after the working elements are fully brought together.
- The fitting is being pressed.
Note! The guide skirt on the fitting sleeve should fit exactly into the corresponding recess at the nozzle. This is proof that the work was done correctly and the connection has acquired the required tightness.
- The evidence of the quality of the work performed is also a small fold of the metal-plastic pipe, which is formed near the end of the sleeve. In this case, turn the part around its axis 90 degrees and repeat the pressing operation.

Considering how much a metal-plastic pipe costs, you should not save this material. In case of doubts about the tightness of the connection, it is better to cut off the failed fitting and perform all operations again.

Pressing large fittings
If the size of the connecting elements exceeds 26 mm, you need to use a special power tool to work with them. Working with him has some special features.

In particular, the time of continuous operation is limited to 5 minutes, after which it is necessary to make a double pause, which is necessary for cooling the device. Otherwise, the power of the latter may not be enough to properly compress the sleeve on the metal-plastic parts.
Tip! In order to check the quality of the connection, remove the sponge from the press and attach it to the pressed fitting. The gap between the parts should not be greater than 1 mm.
Breakage elimination
It will also be useful to dwell on the question of how to repair metal-plastic pipes with your own hands.
Best of all (and safer) will simply replace the damaged area. To do this, measure the length of the latter, and then purchase a part of the same diameter and length in the nearest store. Still need two couplings for pipes.
After that, it remains only to cut out the damaged area and insert a new element in its place. The order of work in this case is no different from the sequence of actions described in the previous sections.
As a last resort in the formation of leaks, you can use:
- ordinary rubber hose clamp;
- silicone sealant that fills the crack;
- epoxy two-component adhesive.

- To connect the individual parts into a single engineering network, you can only use press fittings, which are used to produce a one-piece assembly.
- It is advisable to finish the finishing in such a way that in the event of a pipeline breakdown (leakage), the site of the accident will be provided with quick and unhindered access. It is best to use plastic or wooden lining, OSB-plates or drywall.
- Before final sealing of the system, it should be tested under maximum load. This will allow to identify weak points and, if necessary, to re-install those or other nodes.
- When installing hot water and heating, space should be provided for linear thermal expansion of the pipeline. All parts need to be “dressed” in heat-insulating shells (for example, from expanded polystyrene or foamed polyethylene).
- Make a mounting plan. This will facilitate and speed up the search for faulty nodes in the event of an accident.
