Kinds

Repair parts
Usually this connection consists of either two halves, or of a kind of clamp. It should embrace the damaged area throughout its area and firmly fixed on it.

Plastic constructions
It is believed that such a material is best suited shrink sleeve for pipes or products, fixed by soldering. Such compounds create an almost monolithic structure and are most effective in their work.

The fact is that the glue used at first destroys the surface layers of the products, and then connects them, turning them into a monolith.
In fact, couplings for polypropylene pipes can have a very different configuration and appearance. However, threaded products for them are practically not used.
Tip! Glue joints are much easier to repair, although brazed products are considered more reliable, as they can withstand high system pressure.

Metal
The simplest metal clutch is considered to be the one that is fixed by means of a thread. It is very practical, can withstand heavy loads, and the price of its production fully justifies simplicity and reliability.
In this case, its main competitor is the coupling, mounted with the use of welding, although for its installation it is necessary to have special equipment.

There is also a special casing coupling and a similar system for connecting drill strings. They have different designs that can be equipped with additional locking elements or safety systems for quick disassembly.
However, such products are practically not used in everyday life.
Tip! Experts recommend choosing these types of products made from materials that are not susceptible to corrosion. The fact is that it is in these places that rust or blockage occurs.
