• Depending on the production method (hot or cold rolled), you can use GOST 9940-81 (hot-rolled pipe) and GOST 9941-81 (cold rolled).

Corrosion-proof profile pipe 20 20 2, as a rule, is made of structural austenitic steels (ductile anticorrosive) according to DIN 2395.

In this case, 2 production methods can be used:

• welded. The production instruction looks like this: an infinite steel tape of constant width is cut, then it is bent into a circular cross-section pipe (the edges are not welded yet), then the welding, stripping of the weld is performed. The desired transverse profile is given by passing it through the rolls. In this case, internal stresses inevitably arise in the metal; for their removal, the product heats up;

• in the case of seamless technology, the workpiece is first flashed and then skipped through the rolls to give the desired cross-sectional shape. In this case, round seamless pipes can serve as raw materials for the production of a square pipeline. This method of production makes the final product more expensive compared to the use of welding.

As for how much the profile pipe costs 20 to 20, then everything depends on the production method used. Thus, a conventional square pipeline with a section of 20x20x1 will cost 221 rubles / 1 m. For large scale construction, it is more convenient to operate with the cost of the 1st ton of rolled steel, in which case the cost will be 382800 rubles / 1 ton (the cost is for 08-12Х18Н10 steel).

Types of weld welding

The production of a square profile pipe of stainless steel takes place in 2 ways. In the first case, strips (blanks) are used, from which pipes are drawn. In the second, products are welded from sheets of metal.

There are several types of welding:

• TIG (tungsten electrode in an inert gas without additives);
• plasma with TIG;
• high frequency current;
• laser;
• electron beam.

The profile pipe 20x20x2 has a wide scope of application, which will directly depend on the type of weld. Welding quality control is carried out in accordance with GOST 3242 - 79 and GOST 30245-2003.

Note! The price of a pipe with a welded seam made by high-frequency currents is 10% lower than that of analogs with TIG welding. At the same time, the strength of the weld is at the same level.

Surface for every taste

Profile pipe looks very aesthetically pleasing due to the surface, which is:

• matte (Matt, Mill finish);
• brushed. The degree of processing has several levels up to the smoothest and has the designations Satin 180, 320 or 400 Grit;
• mirror, which depends again on the degree of polishing (Mirror 400 or 600 Grit).

Foreign marking of pipe surfaces made of AISI steel is somewhat different:

• 2B - matte;
• VA - mirror;
• 4N - polished.

The quality of the surface finish is not affected by the strength indicators. If all the work is done by hand, then the choice from the proposed options should be made rather on the basis of whether the pipes will be visible. If they act as an element of the interior, the surface should be selected taking into account the decor of the room.

Scope of the profile pipeline

A small section does not allow it to be used as load-bearing elements under severe loads. But the stiffness of the square section is sufficient for the perception of loads of average magnitude. The advantages of a square pipeline should include a relatively small weight, for example, the weight of a 20x20x2 profile pipe is about 1.175 kg / bar. m
