How to choose the installation for the toilet
To add a novelty to the organization and design of the toilet room allow mounted toilet bowls that can be installed anywhere without occupying floor space. For installation of a hinged toilet, special installation installations are used. To know how to choose an installation for a toilet, it is necessary to imagine the future location of the bowl in the bathroom and the method of its attachment. Just about this and will be discussed in the article.
The installation is a metal frame, to which is attached a toilet, bidet, sink, both separately and together. Installation is mounted to the bearing wall and floor. Between the frame and the wall there is a small space in which the cistern, sewer and water pipes are located.
The installation is sewn up with plasterboard, a false wall is created, therefore no engineering systems, flush cisterns are visible. The toilet bowl attached to the installation is therefore lacking to the floor and not leaning on it.
Types of designs

Despite the relatively new direction in plumbing, designs of mounted bowls have modifications that differ in the method of attachment and installation site.
Installations can be classified according to two main factors.
By type of attachment

Depends on the place of application of the main load to the supporting structures of the house:
- Suspended or block installation. Fully fastened to the wall with anchor bolts, no floor support. The wall must be capital. The installation must fit snugly to the wall so that it does not subside during operation and deform the false-wall. The tank in the system is narrow to fit inside the metal frame. This type of frame is the easiest and most inexpensive.
- Frame installation. Fastened simultaneously to the wall and to the floor. The main burden is the floor. Fixing to the wall allows you to hold the frame in an upright position. The frame may not fit tightly to the wall. In the niche between the frame and the wall, you can hide pipe risers and other utilities. Such designs are a bit more complicated than block ones; you can adjust the height of the toilet bowl installation. False wall can be made of any structural material.
By installation

The design depends on the intended installation location of the plumbing:
- Classic installation design. Restrictions on the size of the installation for the bathroom is not available neither by the height of the structure itself, nor by the depth of the false wall. The frame, as a rule, has a width of 50 cm and a height of 112 cm, suitable for most standard apartments.
- Low construction. Designed for bathrooms, where there are restrictions on the height of the installation, either because of the design features of the room, or the presence of low window sills, if the toilet is installed under the window. The height of the frame is about 80 cm. It is also advisable to use the frame in case of saving room space when, for example, you need to place a water heater above the toilet bowl.
- Double-sided construction. It is usually used in office and commercial buildings, when bathrooms are divided by a false wall and on both sides of it are two mounted toilet bowls. A combined installation requires the use of narrow cisterns.
- Corner installation. Often when planning a bathroom the only convenient place for a toilet bowl may be the corner of the room. In this case, the suitable angular design for mounting the hinged bowl. Its shape allows you to securely install to two walls.
- Linear installation is a structure on which you can install several appliances: toilet, bidet, sink. Suitable for spacious rooms, such as country cottages, hotel rooms, as the wall length should be sufficient to accommodate several appliances.
Special features

Hanging toilet with installation must harmoniously fit into the bathroom interior, therefore, important attention is paid to controls and equipment. The installation must be completed with all couplings, fasteners, tank, button.
All joints must be accessible for maintenance, so a false wall must be collapsible to access joints. The tank is better to choose plastic (it is not susceptible to corrosion), with the obligatory presence of an emergency drain when it overflows.
Select flush button

The flush button is usually not included. It must be purchased separately, taking into account the future colors and overall interior of the bathroom. Buttons can be of three types:
- dual mode (normal and economy modes);
- with the system “flush – stop”, when the flush stops after repeated pressing the button;
- contactless, with a motion sensor.
Dual-mode buttons are the most reliable and simple. Non-contact ones are more technological and hygienic, since you don’t need to touch the button with your hands.
Having a general knowledge of the design of metal frames for mounted toilet bowls and their purpose, you can easily decide which installation to choose. If you have already installed a wall-mounted toilet and, accordingly, faced with the question of choosing an installation, then share your experience in the comments.
