How to move the toilet to another place
There are quite a few options how to move the toilet to another place. This article will give some tips, for example, on how to dismantle the toilet bowl, install it on a new site, etc. There are many reasons for such a transfer:
- Expansion of toilet space. After moving the walls, the location of the toilet bowl can become uncomfortable.
- Replacing an old toilet bowl with a new one. After installing a new device may find that it has other dimensions. It is worth considering that the restructuring of the bathroom allows the replacement or even a new installation of the sewer system under a more comfortable toilet with new dimensions.
- Buying a new washing machine, bath or shower, installation which may require the transfer of the toilet, and hence its removal from the riser.
How to remove the toilet

The dismantling of the toilet itself is directly related to how it was installed. The easiest to dismantle in cases where the toilet is installed on a regular hardware, and its connection with the tank made with a rubber cuff. In other cases, the scope of work may be much wider. Where to begin?
- Unscrew the mount. If the toilet is bolted to the floor, you will need a wrench or a screwdriver. If this is a wall toilet, then removing it, you need to be careful not to break.
- Pull out the sewer outlet. To do this, you need to move the toilet on yourself along the axis of the socket. It is not necessary to overlap the water on the tank, most importantly, out of habit, do not press a button or a drain lever. If the base of the toilet bowl was glued or planted on cement, then this is not a problem, but removing it without breaking it will be harder.
- It is necessary to take a screwdriver and carefully remove the putty between the outlet and the socket. This should be done very carefully, so as not to damage the toilet, because it is possible to break it.
- Having taken a chisel in your hands, you can begin to drive this tool from all sides under the base of the toilet bowl with little effort. By the fact that the toilet is staggering or not, it is possible to determine how much the cement was broken under its base. True, there is a risk of breaking the toilet after one - two careless blows.
- Loosening the toilet, you need to move it from side to side, making a small effort. After it is necessary to pull the release of the socket (strictly along the axis).
Installing the toilet in a new place

Replacing the flexible liner is not needed if the system works well. If you still need to change it, then it is done quite simply. First you need a sealant for sewer pipes to get a better fit. Connect the toilet to the riser corrugation. The advantage of such corrugated pipes are rubber seals on both sides. Next, fasten the toilet to the floor, best on the screws. If the floor is not very flat, you can make a small layer of a tie from glue-cement.
Tip! Installing the toilet on the screws, in any case, you can not press them without plastic washers, otherwise you can damage the base of the toilet.
Some tips will help you install correctly:
- The spout of the pipe to which the toilet outlet will be connected must be clean and dry.
- To install the toilet with screws, you must drill holes in the floor for new fixtures; on the tiled floor it is necessary to drill the holes with a larger drill.
A pre-purchased sealant is applied to the floor, after which a toilet is installed. To properly make the holes and smear the silicone where necessary, put a toilet on a dry floor, delineate the outline of its base and mark the holes. Then these holes are drilled for screw holes, and silicone is applied along the contour. Then you can install a toilet, after installation of which a corrugation is put on its release. Putting the toilet on a new place, you need to make sure that it is stable.
Transfer of a toilet bowl in more difficult cases

If the toilet is installed near the old place, it will be easier to connect the water flexible liner. Reworking the drain system is needed if, after moving the toilet bowl, it turns out that the length of the corrugations is small. In some cases, you have to do a sidebar in the sewer riser, especially when the input needs to be done below.
For the installation of a new sewer system you will need a plastic pipe of 110 mm. When assembling a system, it is important to think about what fittings and corners may be needed, as well as how many will be needed.
Fixture for sewer pipes will serve as clamps. In other cases, the sewage system is simply mounted directly on the floor, in the corner between it and the wall. In this case, most likely, it will be necessary to pull the drain from the tee to the toilet to lower the sewer to almost the floor level.
If the riser pipe is made of cast iron, it is necessary to heat it with a torch or blowtorch so that you can remove the old pipe. Of course, there would be no such problems with plastic, but alas, in the old high-rise buildings, the risers are mostly made of cast iron.
Heating the cast iron, you need to take care of the new seal - the old heel after such a procedure will burn. After completion of the warm-up, you can pull the pipe out of the socket. A fitting is used for plastic inserts in cast iron. For a more secure fixing, its edge, which will be inserted into the cast iron, is smeared with a sealant. Sealant is also applied carefully to the cast-iron pipe.
Tip! When installing the sewage system, it is necessary to observe a slope of 1–2 cm by 1 m to the riser from the toilet.
Before you insert a new pipe into the socket, you must do one unpleasant job - if there is dirt, it must be removed. This will help the burner. You need to be prepared for the fact that there will be an unpleasant smell. True, it is worth it - after such a cleaning sewer will not be clogged for a long time. After making sure that there is ventilation for ventilation, and a respiratory protective device is prepared - a respirator, you can start cleaning.
To make it easier to fit the plastic pipe to release, you need a fitting that will allow you to connect to the toilet. After connecting, you can turn on the water in the tank and try to flush the toilet. The sewer pipe can be closed with a neat drywall box.

If everything is working properly, it means that the installation went right, and the person who installed the toilet bowl used exactly the tips from this article.
