Everything works fine and there are no failures, but time passes and the first small problem appears on the horizon - at the most inopportune moment in the kitchen or in the bathroom, the sink huddled. We urgently need to find a way out of this situation.

Use the plunger

The simplest tool for cleaning clogged drain holes in a house is called a plunger. He is in every house where there is a sewer system. The design of the tool is simple and looks like a small durable wooden stick with a rubber hemisphere at the end.

You need to do the following:

Close the drain hole with a rag.
To collect hot water, such an amount to completely dig a rubber pear plunger.
Start pumping the sink, rhythmically pressing and releasing the plunger.

Your manipulations will lead to a pressure drop inside the drain, which will contribute to the destruction of the resulting plug. Work plunger need not long. If you do it right, the water rushes into the funnel and quickly goes through the pipe.

Tip! Old sewer systems are made of cast iron pipes. Over the years, growths and roughness appeared inside the pipe. Perhaps the first time cleaning with a plunger will not give the desired result. Try again when getting a weak result.

If your actions with the plunger did not lead to anything, use another tool to clean the clog in the sink.

We use hydraulic pump

How can an ordinary hydraulic pump help us? With it, you can create a strong flow of water, aimed in the direction of the sewer exit. Nothing happens? A too strong traffic jam has formed and your efforts do not give any results.

Try using the pump in a different direction. Move the stopper off the suction process. How to do it right? You need:

Take a piece of cloth and moisten with water.
Cover the overflow hole with a cloth.
Type in the pump water from the tap.
Press the pump wort tightly against the drain hole.
Start pumping the pump by releasing water into the pipe and again sucking it out of the pipe.

When there is no hydraulic pump on hand, you can try other alternative means.

Pick up the cable

We do not need a simple cable, but a plumbing one, which perfectly copes with the most difficult cases of blockage of the drain.

Tip! If you have a sewage system in your home, be sure to purchase a plunger and a plumbing cable at the store. Let them be at your home and then the problems with clogging drains you are not afraid.

On the wire, twisted by a spiral, on the one hand there is attached a spiral-shaped drill, and on the other - a solid handle is attached. The diameter of the wire may be different, but the length is the same and equals 3 meters.

Cleaning the drain with a cable is effective even in cases when the siphon is cleaned, but the water still does not go away. Old metal pipes can only be cleaned by using a cable. Let's try to implement our plans:

Insert the end of the cable with the drill in the drain hole or sewer pipe inspector. Turn the drill to the intended location of the blockage.
The cable must be simultaneously pushed into the tube and twisted around its axis. One person is not very comfortable doing this. Call someone to help.
Keep the cable taut and gradually push it through the pipe.
Faced with a cork, twist the cable first in one direction and then in the other. At the same time push the cable forward and pull back.

When the cork is broken, you will feel the easy course of the cable. Now let the water in to drain the cork in the sewer sump.

Let's try to clean the siphon

You may not have to use any means of cleaning the drain if it turns out that the siphon is clogged. A curved tubular device is installed under the sink. There is always water at the bottom of the siphon. Siphon is designed to prevent sewage odors from entering the room. When a cork fatty admixture with solid waste is formed at the bottom, the siphon stops working.

You will need a container to drain the water from the siphon when dismantling it. Place a bowl or bucket under the sink and proceed to disassemble:

Unscrew the cap on the siphon.
Bottle type siphon is very easy to disassemble. Large sump just turn to the side. Other types of siphons need to be completely disassembled with all nuts removed.
Empty the siphon contents into the container.
Bend the wire with a hook and check the outlet of the pipe near the siphon on both sides.
Wash the siphon from fat deposits using chlorine-free detergents if a septic tank is installed on the site.

Tip! Use a wire to clean the horizontal pipe located after the siphon. For this, a horizontal pipe must have a plug installed during the installation of the sewage system.

In addition to mechanical methods of cleaning clogging plum, there are ways using chemicals or food additives used by women for cooking.

Baking soda

For the drain cleaning procedure, you need to prepare a bottle of vinegar and a pack of non-soda ash. The procedure for removing blockages:

Boil water in the kettle.
Wipe the sink thoroughly with a dry cloth.
One hundred grams of food soda pour into the drain hole of the sink. If necessary, push through with a stick.
Pour a hundred grams of vinegar.
After three minutes, pour hot water into the drain.
Open the tap so that the water goes to the drain without delay.

The cleaning procedure is complete.

Household chemicals

For cleaning the clogging in metal and metal-plastic pipes use the tool "Mole". There are universal means suitable for working with pipes of any materials. You can help "Mr. Muscle" or means "Tiret."

It is better to do prevention

To avoid unpleasant situations with clogged sink, periodically perform the following manipulations:

Regularly clean the siphon of fat and food residues. It is enough to leave hot water turned on after each washing of the dishes for only 30 seconds.
Prepare the product from one part of citric acid and two parts of baking soda and salt. Pour the prepared tool into the drain hole and pour two parts of boiling water there. After 5 minutes, rinse off with water. Do this prophylaxis once every 7 days.
Sewage pipes from residual grease are perfectly washed with a large volume of hot water. After flushing to fix the result, run the plunger.
Put a special net on all the plums. If you don’t drain leftover custard coffee, tea and food, problems can be avoided.
