How to install the semi-circular showers

All semicircular showers are usually installed in the bathroom in the corner between the walls, which are decorated with ceramic tiles, that is, ceramics are a continuation of the body and the place where the faucet is installed. By design, such fences may differ from each other, but this is only in the details that relate to the fasteners of various elements, and the rest of the metal frame with doors and fixtures is very similar to all analogues of one size or another.

Asymmetric semicircular shower cabin 70x90 cm

We will now find out what kind of booths can be and how to mount them, and besides, you will be shown the video demonstration in this article.

Showers

What they are

Note. It should be noted that the semicircular glass doors for the shower can be not only on the booth, but also on the box - some confuse these two designs. So, if the booth is mounted to the wall and this is a continuation of its fence, then the box is completely autonomous, and it can be installed even in the middle of the room.

Original square cabin with transparent fencing
  • Square or rectangular constructions, first of all, are distinguished by the fact that the instruction allows to mount them in any part of the wall, that is, it can be installed not only in the corner of the room, but also in the middle of the wall, since its mount is provided only for one plane. Such fences are quite original and beautiful, but they take up a lot of space due to their angularity, therefore, only the owner of a sufficiently large bathroom can afford them.
Semicircular shower curtains 90x90 cm are roomy enough.
  • In order to save space, a semicircle is more suitable, for example, the smallest semicircular shower tray 70x70 cm will fit in almost any small bathroom of a multi-storey building, and even with the presence of an automatic washing machine in addition. Some are too afraid of the small dimensions of such a fence, but practice shows that there is nothing to be afraid of - of course, the reduction of free space causes some inconvenience, but even a tall person is quite enough for washing this.
Matte doors
  • Sometimes our small apartments contain a lot of tenants and the presence of a single combined bathroom gives some difficulties in living - you have to wait for your turn. To some extent, matte doors and additional fencing panels of the same color help to solve this problem, in any case, for a family - someone can use the toilet while another person is washing.

Installation

Note. We will tell and show you in the photo on the example of the booth 80120 cm, how to install it.

The tile under guides is drilled by a drill

It does not matter at all whether we have a semicircular shower tray of 70x70 cm or, as in this case, 80120 cm, first of all we need to put it in, and we need to immediately connect a siphon to it and connect it to the sewer. Make sure that it is strictly level (the adjustment is made by screw-in feet) - the slope is not needed here - everything is provided by the design.

Then you put guide rails along its edges, mark fixing points with a marker and drill holes across the diameter of the dowels, just use a drill and not a punch in order not to damage the tile.

Fixing guides

Now you need to fasten vertical guides to the wall along the holes, and between them insert a semicircular profile in the shape of a pallet (in some models this semicircle goes along with the door frame). Under the guides, be sure to apply a layer of silicone - this will be a good seal for water flowing over the ceramic tile.

We assemble the door frame

Now we need to assemble the door frame and this is best done on the floor, separately from the booth, as shown in the upper photo (an old cover is laid on the floor so as not to scratch the tile). To do this, take a vertical profile and a semicircular shower corner, connecting them with special screws, which are supplied.

As a result, you should have a frame with two vertical posts and semicircular partitions at the top and bottom.

Insert the door frame into the guides

After the assembly, we insert the doorframe into the guides with our own hands - it should enter fairly easily, provided that the guides bolted to the walls are installed strictly vertically and in the right place relative to the corners of the pallet. It is advisable to place the lower arc of the box on silicone in order to prevent water from leaking out, and to the vertical profiles you will fix the box together with fixed panels (this is done in most cases).

Installation of fixed panels

Install the fixed panels, fixing them with special brackets - they are screwed with rubber gaskets, but, nevertheless, turn on the ratchet on the screwdriver or tighten them manually so as not to crush the glass.

On the edges of the sheets vertically, special gaskets are put on for sealing - on the side where the guide is put on just the U-shaped profile, and on the side of the doors is the U-shaped profile with an apron that closes the gap between the movable and fixed glass.

We hang semicircular shower doors

To install (hang) sliding semicircular doors for shower cabins, they are first screwed with rollers that ride along the sled of the upper and lower arc, with the upper pair being fixed immediately, and the lower one - only after hanging.

These wheels have eccentrics in fasteners that allow to raise and lower parts - this contributes to a more accurate and even installation. From the side of the joint, a special magnetic strip is put on each door so that they close tightly. Handle twist after hanging.

Force the joints

The joint between the pallet and the wall should be sanded so that there (in the hollow) there is no water accumulation and no mold. After you apply the silicone, slide the finger along the seam to seal it.

Conclusion

Different booths - different price, but the principle of installation does not change, so you can safely focus on the above description. In this case, you can advise the installation of any model - this is an excellent alternative to the bathroom, plus significant water savings when washing.
