The thing is that these animals are very clean, and they consider their natural needs in a dirty tray to be below their dignity. To beat and poke his nose in a puddle, by the way, is meaningless.

In principle, the scheme with a tray is quite comfortable, but in terms of hygiene and pleasant smells, it is still not perfect. And the price of high-quality filler is quite high, so if you can save money, you should definitely use it.

• Then we remove the newspapers, and install the tray on the toilet itself. Usually, there are no special problems: the dimensions of the trays correspond approximately to the dimensions of the plumbing, so there is no need to fix them further. If this is not your case, then you can make a temporary backup from the tray and the old toilet seat, tightened with wire or screws.

• Again we leave the situation for a few days: the cat should get used to jumping not on the newspapers, but on the toilet itself.
• The final touch: remove the tray. And we do not just remove them, but either hide them away, or throw them away altogether, so that the cat cannot smell it by the smell. The animal will have no choice but to “walk” to its usual place!
