Steam generator for a shower cabin: choice and installation
The closed shower box, unlike the sauna, has one major drawback - it’s impossible to warm up your body there, but the modern industry threw a steam generator for the shower cabin onto the plumbing market, thanks to which you can create a mini-sauna or a Turkish bath.
Most often, such mechanisms are used in well-equipped sections, where there are hydromassage jets, two types of watering cans (upper and portable), as well as a deep sump with a mandatory bottom valve, which allows the use of capacity as a bath. Note. All steam generators that are used for shower cabins can be classified according to the method of heating water and steam extraction. So there are three categories: electrode, Tenovy and induction devices.
- Electrode devices function according to the well-known principle of boiling water with blades, only here the metal rod plays the role of the anode, and the water that is in the tank plays the role of the cathode.. It turns out that water with an electrode closes the circuit, as a result of which it heats up and boils, and this process leads to vaporization.
- Tenovye devices are even simpler - a tubular electric heater of one or another power is built into a certain volume of the tank - it, like in other units, serves to heat the liquid. When the boiling point is reached, steam begins to stand out.
- An induction steam heater is very effective and works on the principle of an induction boiler - when voltage is applied between the coil and the core, so-called eddy currents or Foucault currents occur. They cause heating of the body and the core, which immediately takes away the water, reaching a critical temperature, that is, boiling, which, in fact, requires instruction.
- When choosing a steam generator in the first place should not be its price, but the functionality that is incorporated in the unit by the manufacturer. Since the device creates a special microclimate of the Turkish bath, you should pay attention to the presence or absence of certain options (you can see them in the table below).
Note. Also, the device is selected depending on the size of the room, which is determined by the power device - 1 m3 premises need to have 1kW of power. In addition, pay attention to the warranty obligations of the manufacturer and the possibility of service - this may be useful to you.

Installation
Of course, a shower cabin with a steam room is very convenient and efficient to use and if you need to install such a device, then for this (besides the device itself) you will need an electric drill, self-tapping screws with dowels (or without them) for fastening, an adjustable wrench, and pipes for water supply and drain.
If you have decided on the capacity and purchased the unit, then select the installation location that corresponds to the instruction that is attached from the manufacturer.
Considering that the installation can be either floor-standing or wall-mounted, the steam shower in this case will be carried out in the second version, since there is usually not enough space in the booths, although if you have this structure done in arbitrary sizes (with a home-made tray), then the place of installation does not play any role. Do not forget that you definitely need to equip a pipe for draining condensate, which should have a slope.

As for branded showers, you do not have to install a steam generator there with your own hands. Some of them are equipped with such a unit already from the factory and it provides for most of the above functions.
