Suspended sink for modern bathroom
In old houses, the bathroom does not have a large square. As a result, the owners have to puzzle over how convenient to put the sink. One suitable option could be a suspension.
But this option is suitable not only for small rooms, in this case the dimensions of the plumbing equipment are not so important, because the hanging sink is 100 cm and a miniature piece, they are mounted the same way.
On the varieties of modern plumbing and the rules for its installation, we will discuss further.

Varieties of products
Modern hanging sinks in the bathroom on the market are presented in a huge range. In addition to the material used for manufacturing, they are also classified by size and number of reference points.
What do plumbing
- The niche of ceramics, for the most part represented by porcelain and earthenware. Visually, the new porcelain sink is not much different from the faience, but the price of porcelain is much higher. This is explained by the high quality products and long service life of porcelain. The fact is that the earthenware, over time, is covered with a barely noticeable grid of small cracks, while porcelain retains its original beauty for many years.

Tip: choosing plumbing, pay attention to the fact that porcelain on impact produces a clearer and higher sound. Plus, the edges of the porcelain in the sun will shine through. Faience in mind porous structure, makes a deaf sound and does not shine through.
- Recently, glass plumbing has become widespread.. Manufacturing technology of glass products is somewhat simpler, so they are on the market in a large assortment. Glass is used here is not simple, all products are hardened, as a result, they acquire mechanical strength and resistance to aggressive environment. Such shells can have the most bizarre colors and shapes, so they are very popular.

- Products from a natural stone belong to the category of elite bathroom equipment. Traditionally, the price of such items is much higher than the average. For the manufacture of used marble, travertine, granite or onyx. Most models are designed for installation in spacious rooms with a large square, so, as a rule, all stone sinks come with a worktop. It should be noted that such products have a sufficiently large weight, plus they are not recommended to be cleaned with aggressive detergents and abrasives.

- Plumbing from artificial stone visually does not differ from natural material, but its price is lower, plus it is more resistant to mechanical and chemical effects. The material consists of 80% of the crumb of natural minerals, 20% composite resins act as a binder. As well as natural stone, the composite is heavy.

- Enameled metal shells are gone. Now, as a rule, copper or bronze is used. Stainless steel is practically not used for bathrooms, it reigns in the kitchen. Shells made of non-ferrous metals are distinguished by exceptional durability, they are often installed in the interiors of stylized antique or country. A big disadvantage is the fear of mechanical damage and the formation of stains from aggressive detergents.

Suspension options
- Installing a hanging shell in its pure form, exclusively on anchor bolts, is relevant only for metal products. In some cases, in this way it is possible to install ceramic sinks of small sizes. As for the natural or artificial stone, due to the large weight, this option is not acceptable here, as additional support is required.
- Heavy, volumetric designs are mounted in a complex. In addition to attaching to the wall with anchors, additional support is provided with metal brackets. The configuration of the brackets may be different. In classic designs, two side supports are used. Avant-garde shells of irregular shape are hung on special supports, which are designed individually for each model.
- Suspended pedestals are considered a separate direction. In fact, this is a small closet, on which the sink with the table top is based. Now it is the most common and rapidly developing direction. In addition to practical benefits, in such a closet you can hide a lot of useful things, the pedestal is a beautiful piece of furniture. Some models are something between a classic sink and a dressing table.

Installation Tips
The installation manual for the hanging sink is available for almost every owner, for whom a perforator, a screwdriver and a set of keys are considered to be a familiar tool.
Of course, it is possible to install plumbing alone, but experienced craftsmen still advise to attract another assistant, and it is not necessary that he understand the intricacies of the installation, his task is to support the sink during the installation process.
Important: before you install the hanging sink with your own hands, make sure the strength of the wall on which the installation will be carried out. All such structures are mounted only on monolithic, preferably bearing, walls. Drywall sink will not stand.

- Any installation work traditionally begins with the markup, as for the sink, it is recommended to install it at a height of 80 - 90 cm. Experts say that the optimal level is 850 mm, in the upper section. It is better to immediately apply a demarcation line by level, so that later there is no skew.
- When the line is drawn, you need to attach a shell to it and mark the places of future fixings. It is here, at this stage you will not interfere with outside help. As long as your partner presses the structure against the wall, you will put marks on which holes will be drilled later and brackets or anchors will be installed.
- Next, proceed to the drilling holes. It is better to use an electric drill with a perforation function. And at the stage of drilling the tile, the drill should work as usual, and when the tile is completed, you need to switch to the punch. If you immediately turn on the perforation function, the tile may crack or even burst.

Tip: the tile has a solid and rather slippery surface, so in order to precisely drill it in the right place, you should first stick a building tape on the tile, plus it is advisable to slightly tick the entry point.
- When the holes are ready, dowels are inserted into them and studs are screwed in for fastening. The length of the stud must be at least 15 mm greater than the wall thickness so that you can safely put on the sealing gasket and screw the nut onto the stud.
- The next step will be installation on the sink faucet and drain fittings. The fact is that the mixer is mounted from below, it has a special stud on which a semicircular washer with a rubber seal is put on and all this is fixed by a nut.

- It is better to mix the edge of the mixer with silicone or other sealants. If the drain fittings can be installed after installing the sink, the mixer on the fixed sink will have to be mounted from the bottom and mostly to the touch, which is very difficult.
- At the last stage, the shell is put on the studs, after which sealing gaskets are put on the same studs and nuts are screwed on. Please note that the nuts must be tightened alternately and gradually, so that the design does not twist. The place of contact with the wall, especially the upper part, must be treated with any sealants.

Conclusion
As you can see, the hanging bathroom sink is quite simple to install. Almost all models of sinks are mounted the same way, the only difference is in the number of support points and the thickness of the studs or anchor bolts.
