Toilet tablets - eye and smell delight
For obvious reasons, the toilet in the toilet has to be cleaned quite often, because it is not always that the water from the tank removes all traces of human waste products. As a result, it is often necessary to manually clean the plumbing fixture.
The use of special tablets will increase the cleaning efficiency.

Why do we need such pills
The main task of such cleaners is to disinfect the cistern and more efficiently clean the toilet bowl. A pleasant addition can be considered as aromatization and an unusual appearance of water, you can pick up any shade - blue, pink, green, etc.
According to the installation method, such cleaning agents can be divided into 2 types:
- toilet bowl pill - installed directly in the cistern. Its composition is selected so that it dissolves for several days (the period of complete dissolution in water depends on the manufacturer). Typically, the effect of immersing such a pill in the tank is noticeable almost immediately - the water changes color, which means that some of the substance has already dissolved;

- Also popular options when the tablet is installed under the rim of the toilet bowl. In this case, the active substance is consumed only when the water is lowered.

From the practice of operating such tablets, it can be noted that they have practically no effect on the efficiency of flushing; their use does not save a person from the necessity of manual cleaning of a sanitary fixture. It can also be noted that thanks to them, the fittings located in the tank can last longer, this is achieved due to the mild cleaning of rubber and plastic parts of the fittings.
Nevertheless, the pleasant smell, unusual appearance and additional disinfection allow tablets to remain popular. Moreover, their price is low.
Note! In some cases, the use of aerosol flavors is not possible due to an allergic reaction. In such cases, the hygienic tablet will be a real salvation.
Features of the use and composition of tablets for the toilet
There are many such cleaners of various colors, shapes and sizes on the market. Differences are also observed in the composition and duration of dissolution, for example, some tablets last at best for a week and others for 1-1.5 months. It also matters the correct placement in the cistern.
How to place a pill in the tank
When placed in a canister, the rules are only 2:
- it must be placed on the wall closer to the bottom on the opposite side of the water intake;
Note! If the tablet constantly gets a jet of water when filling the tank, it is simply faster to dissolve.
- it is also not recommended to place tablets in the toilet bowl in the vicinity of the drain hole;

- It is important not to break the integrity of the water-soluble membrane, its main purpose is not to allow the tablet to dissolve too quickly.
Difficulty of choice
When choosing a particular option, it is desirable to take into account not only the smell and color, but also the composition of the tablet, its effect on human skin (some may cause irritation) and the duration of dissolution.
As for the composition, in percentage terms it is about the same, such substances are used as:
- non-ionic surfactants (surface active substances) - up to 5%;
- anionic surfactants - 15-30%;
- dye;
- flavor - up to 5%;
- often substances such as alphazomethylionone, coumarin, phosphates and aromatic hydrocarbons are introduced into the composition.
Manufacturers recommend limiting the duration of its contact with human skin, the listed components may cause irritation or, in some cases, an allergic reaction.

Note! If this substance gets on the mucous membrane, it can be burned.
If for some reason the purchased options do not suit you, then you can think about how to make a pill for the cistern by yourself.
Homemade pills for the flush tank
There are a lot of recipes, and you will need a minimum set of components - essential oils (for smell), soda, vinegar, salt, water, gelatin, some add starch to the recipe.
The closest to the purchased in appearance and functionality can be considered tablets of gelatin, for this you need:
- 50 g of gelatin, 25 ml of vinegar (9% solution), 25 g of salt and soda are taken per cup of water, dye and aromatic oils are added to the eye;
- the process of cooking is no different from the preparation of ordinary jelly - dissolve the gelatin and the remaining components, let cool, cut into small pieces;
- after it remains only to put it in the drain tank. Gelatin dissolves slowly in cold water.

If gelatin is excluded from the composition, it is possible to make disposable bombs pills on the basis of soda and citric acid. Throwing such a bomb into the drain tank in a couple of minutes you can drain the water, which effectively cleans the toilet bowl and guarantees a pleasant smell in the bathroom.
For the manufacture will need 1.75 cups of soda, 2 cups of starch (it is desirable to use corn) and 1 cup of citric acid, the dye and flavors can be selected as desired. As for cooking, you first need to mix the components in a dry state, then gradually moisten the mixture with a spray bottle when the desired level of humidity is reached, you can simply make tablets of the desired size and leave them to dry.

You can slightly change the recipe by eliminating starch from the list of ingredients. In this case, you will need: 1 cup of soda, 4 times less citric acid, 1 tbsp. hydrogen peroxide, 0.5 tsp vinegar, as well as flavors and dye.
Instructions for cooking - similar to that described above.
Note! If the soda is wetted too much, it will chemically react with the acid, so you need to add water very carefully.

Summarizing
Count on the fact that with the use of tablets for the toilet, you can forget about the need for manual cleaning of the toilet is not worth it. However, by placing such a pill in the tank, you can achieve additional disinfection, and a pleasant aroma will be a good replacement for conventional flavors.
