Plastic lattices for ventilation - they can not be missing

Ventilation

An integral part of the ventilation system - lattice. Differing in shape, size, material used, color, they perform a common function - ventilate the room. The utilitarian value of this detail is combined with a beautiful appearance. Modern ventilation grilles organically fit into any design, while maintaining its direct purpose.

Plastic lattice

Axiom of ventilation success

Such a detail as a plastic ventilation grille is simply obliged to be present in every ventilation system. Therefore, to give advice on the part to buy this thing or not is stupid. But the problem (and pleasant) of the choice of this accessory remains. The main thing is to know exactly what you need.

It turns out that for ventilation of different places in the house only original parts are needed. Forced ventilation, for example, is different from overflow. And the convenience of inertia is not comparable with unregulated.

Rectangular grilles give the duct elegance and lightness.

Only a systematic approach to the problem will help choose the necessary detail. It must meet all standards, contribute to the creation of comfort and be seasoned in the style of your home.

At first sight

PVC ventilation grilles can be installed both in the room itself and outside.

Depending on this, there are:

  • outdoor - are located with a slight slope towards the street and prevent the ingress of snow / rain, fluff, insects, rodents into the room. They are mainly made of metal due to heavy loads (wind gusts, hail), but there are also plastic samples. The tilt of the blinds is firmly fixed;
Outdoor plastic grill
  • interior - installed on the walls, ceilings and floors in the rooms, have a different design and color scheme. The absence of any significant loads allows them to be made of plastic. May have a removable central part. Thanks to the movable blinds, which are located in one or two rows, change the direction and strength of air flow. Each row can move in its own way - up and down or from left to right;
The photo shows the cords that regulate the position of the slats.
  • overflow (50 mm wall thickness) plastic rectangular ventilation grids, located in the walls or the lower part of the door leaf on both sides, allow air to circulate through all the rooms. V-shaped drawing of blinds is asymmetrical and has no direct gaps, providing light and sound insulation of rooms.
Only air will pass through this grate.

The variety of internal PVC grids includes:

  • anemostats - round decorative, installed in bathrooms and bathrooms;
Exhaust anemostat
  • diffusers that distribute air flow: ceiling perimeter, vortex in a circle;
Universal diffuser
  • radiator;
The grille and radiator constitute a single system.
  • invoices (installation is possible outside).

Depending on the place of installation of the duct, the grilles are divided into floor, wall and ceiling. The invulnerability of the material to mold and fungal infections distinguish it from others. The material is so light that, for example, a plastic ventilation grille 600x600 in the system of suspended ceilings is a success. A simple installation process is much cheaper than aluminum.

Ceiling grille

Air duct grilles are made of plastic, metal and wood. Each material is good in itself. The high price and painstaking care for naughty wooden accessories do not give them popularity. But, as they say, an amateur.

Plastic differs in ease, sufficient durability and environmental friendliness. Easy to install, not deformed and easy to clean. But in the process of operation it quickly becomes discolored and is not suitable for large-size gratings.

The shapes and sizes of plastic ventilation grilles are not limited to strict frames. There is always a choice of round, square, rectangular and triangular products. And the parameters can vary from minimum 100x100 to 600x1800 mm in modular design.

What is behind bars

External examination of the product needs additional information on how it works, what it consists of. Based on the knowledge gained, it is possible to determine the final choice.

So, by the location of the plastic airing grids, you can determine their appearance:

  • exhaust (outdoor);
  • supply and exhaust and overflow (internal).

Design features allow you to select the following groups:

  • adjustable, having movable horizontal / vertical blinds. By reducing or increasing the gaps between them, the intensity of the air jet and its direction are controlled;
The photo clearly shows 2 rows of blinds.
  • unregulated, which do not have lamellae (decorative) and therefore are not able to affect the air flow;
  • inertial (gravitational) work to remove dirty air. Ventilation entrance is blocked by them by gravity.

Strengthen the quality of natural ventilation will help plastic ventilation grille with a check valve. It is a galvanized cylinder with two petals or semicircles, which are movably fixed on the central axis.

The second necessary element will be a fan. When it is turned on, the movable elements of the valve fold inward of the vent pipe, passing air. After the end of forced ventilation, the petals unfold, closing the duct.

The fan is placed directly in the duct opening. Fan control can be connected to the light switch. Then the airing will take place simultaneously with cooking or bathing.

Pay attention to the position of the valve with different air flow

Thus, extraneous odors from the general ventilation system do not penetrate into your apartment. Forced ventilation is recommended for smoking areas, bathrooms, kitchens where there are strong odors.

Note! The check valve for ventilation is useless in places with natural ventilation, because the force of the air jet in this case is weak. Valve or petals will not be able to fold and let air out of the room. The fan will be the whip that will power the system.

Assembly process

The assembly of the ventilation system is the prerogative of the professionals. But to finish and do the installation with your own hands you can do. The part is fixed on the mounting frame, spring clips or by self-tapping screws through the already prepared holes.

Ways of mounting lattices

Wooden, plasterboard and simple plastered walls allow you to work with screws, all work comes down to 2 operations:

  1. In the corners of the cover countersinks exactly the size of the screw.
  2. Attached to the wall and screwed.
Installation on screws

Note! The pattern on your chosen purchase should not interfere with ventilation. Remember that each excess barrier increases resistance and reduces the efficiency of the ventilation process.

Instructions when planting the lattice on glue as follows:

  1. Attach the grid to the desired location and mark its contours.
  2. An adhesive is applied along these boundaries - liquid nails, Dragon / Titanium glue or Budamex silicone.
  3. The object is applied to the wall and fixed to insulation before drying.

Note! Do not use hot water while sticking. No glue will adhere to the raw surface of the tile and, accordingly, the plastic ventilation grille too.

Summarizing

Ventilation grilles as part of a ventilation system are important. They provide the room with fresh air and remove the waste, contribute to the rapid purification of air during smoke and protect against uninvited little guests. And given the attractive appearance, they will also decorate your home.
