Why do we need forced ventilation: the principle of the

Ventilation

It cannot be said that in most cases, but, nevertheless, quite often forced ventilation in a private house or apartment is an extreme necessity that arises under certain conditions. Very often (almost always) such a need arises when natural ventilation is insufficient, or in its absence (apart from windows and air vents).

Let's find out what it is and how to mount the system, and the video in this article will help us.

Device and installation of hoods

Pipes and ducts

Note. Forced ventilation is an exhaust system capable of sucking in air from a room and transporting it outside. In those cases when the air is cleaned chemically, this has nothing to do with the hood.

Corrugated metal pipe

It is very convenient to use metal corrugated pipe for forced ventilation of a private house or apartment. It can always be turned in any direction and, thanks to a corrugated surface, can be made larger or smaller.

But such construction materials are not used as channels - they are used for eyeliner, for example, in a corrugated kitchen can connect an exhaust hood with a window of this channel located on the wall or, in rare cases, on the ceiling. The diameter of the pipe used for domestic purposes, as a rule, is 100 mm.

Air ducts

But it is not at all necessary to use corrugated pipes as a joint - short tubular air ducts made of metal are quite suitable for this, that is, such a transition is collected from straight and angular fragments. And again, this material is not used as channels - they serve as a passage through area between the exhaust fan and the ventilation window.

PVC is a convenient material in all respects.

If in multi-storey buildings exhaust ducts are provided for by the project and are located in the walls and attic, in the private sector often the entire system has to be installed from scratch. That is, not only hoods, but also message channels.

No instruction on this matter gives any indication, so you should rely on the practice, which suggests that a 100 mm diameter sewer pipe made of PVC is best suited for canals. In addition, using plastic fittings for pipes, rubber reductions and silicone it is very easy to combine metal and PVC.

Fans

Note. All fans can be divided according to the type of attachment of the impeller, more precisely, according to its method of pumping air. So, such units can be channel, radial (spiral) and axial. In living conditions most often used devices of the axial type.

Channel Vesa Channel-VENT

Exhaust motors of the type Channel-VENT are capable of operating at a temperature passing from them from -30? C to +50? C - this is a possible temperature difference between the street and the room. But such units are designed exclusively for dust, and then, if its content does not exceed 0.1 g / m3.

In cases where the air in the room is polluted by any fibrous, sticky or explosive substances, the use of Channel-VENT is not recommended, since such substances can damage the engine.

TROMMELBERG MSF-2

TROMMELBERG MSF-2 can be used to exhaust exhaust gases, since the MSF series is specially designed for rooms where diesel and carburetor generators, cars can work, and welding is also performed.

The model shown in the photo above has a power of 1.5 kW, with a capacity of 2550m3/ hour and current consumption 4,1A. The impeller of a three-phase motor rotates at a speed of 2800 rpm, at the inlet the nozzle has a cross section of 145,145 mm, the overall dimensions of 540x560x755 mm noise level 75 dB.

VENTS VTsU

Spiral (radial) fans of the type VENTS VTsU work for the flow of air into a room with a different purpose - most often these are production workshops and devices (forged forges, fireboxes) and public buildings.

Units of this type can be mounted, both indoors and outdoors (the case is made of polymerized steel). To bring the mechanism into action, bipolar and four-pole single-phase motors with an external rotor are used (the external rotor is made of galvanized steel).

Axial exhaust fan AXCBF-18

This model AXCBF-18 is a super-powerful exhaust design for hot air with a capacity of up to 20,275m3/ hour, can have both single-phase and three-phase electric motor. Such capacity is needed mainly for production workshops and public buildings. In everyday life for apartments and the private sector AXCBF-18 is not used.

SISTEMAIR

Axial fans for exhaust type SISTEMAIR are used for domestic purposes, such as toilets, bathrooms, storerooms and other outbuildings, as well as for small public spaces such as small meeting rooms, offices, classrooms and the like.

SISTEMAIR performance is 231m3/ hour and if we take into account that its price is sufficiently democratic, then such a unit can afford each tenant or landlord.

Note. To replace the air in the room is necessary, as exhaust and intake system. That is, the vacuum of air engines with blades do not create, therefore, to ensure the normal outflow of air, you need its inflow.

The nuances of editing

Installation of hoods on the ceiling
  • Axial fans for hoods in bathrooms and toilets are made as overhead, that is, the engine itself is hiding in the ventilation hatch, and the grill rests on a plane along its perimeter, blocking the opening.
  • Fastening can be done either with the help of screws (then mounting holes are provided on the grille), or with the help of an expanding spring (antennae). But with the second method of installation between the work surface and the plastic grid, it is best to pump in silicone sealant for a snug fit.
  • Do not forget that the ventilation ducts are always passages for various insects and vermin.. Therefore, a loose fitting front part of the hood may become a gate for them because of possible cracks.
  • When installing, you should also be careful not to accidentally damage or bend the mosquito net, which the grille must be supplied from the inside.

    Do-it-yourself installation of kitchen hood

  • The kitchen hood is mounted in a slightly different way, since the unit itself with the fan is installed above the stove, but a corrugated metal pipe or air duct connects it to the ventilation duct.
  • On the body of the unit there is a pipe for fastening the pipe, but on the ceiling or wall, to dock with the ventilation duct, you need to install an adapter, which is flanged to the plane, and the pipe turns in the inner side.
  • Some kitchen hinged headsets provide a special cupboard where you can hide the cabinet along with the chimney., leaving only the bottom horizontal plane open for air intake.

Conclusion

So, forced ventilation in an apartment or private house usually happens with an axial fan of different power. In the bathroom and toilet, it is often connected in parallel with the lighting, that is, when the switch is turned on, the circuit at the same time closes the lighting and the fan.
