Arrangement of a well directly on own dacha

Water supply

Everyone knows that no living thing on our planet can exist without water. For this reason, a person who owns a plot of land or a country house to which the central water supply system has not been built, is forced to solve the problem of water supply on his own. Arrangement of a well at the summer cottage is one of the most popular and cost-effective solutions to this problem.

Many owners of country land prefer to build wells with their own hands, but how to do it right? Let's talk about this ...

What are the wells

Each well is a structure representing a shaft that reaches the depth of groundwater suitable for human consumption (see also the article Roof for a well - types and construction).

Depending on how deep the water reserve is located on the site, there are two types of wells:

Groundwater table
  • Key well. In order to carry out the construction of a well of this type, water springs must be found on the site, which strike directly from the ground or drain from the nearest slopes. At this place, it is advisable to conduct the arrangement of wells in the country.
  • Well shaft. The depth of the construction of this type sometimes reaches 15 m. This is due to the fact that the mine wells are designed for the extraction of life-giving moisture from underground sources. A well of this type can be collected with water through the bottom, then it is called key, or through the bottom and side surfaces of the walls, then the well is already referred to as prefabricated.

Information for consideration

There are a number of rules and recommendations that stipulate how to equip a well in a country house that can provide you and your household with fresh and clean water.

But today, none of the authorities will monitor the implementation of these rules, so each owner should take care of their execution, if, of course, he is interested in building a high-quality and durable well.

  • Measures for the search and analysis of the quality of water found. The best option would, of course, be geological prospecting, the results of which you should certainly have if there are capital buildings on the site. But if you do not have results, you have to spend money. The price of such a procedure is quite high, but no one can give you more accurate information about the depth of the water layer;
  • Construction site. The place chosen for construction may significantly affect the state of capital buildings located nearby. The well should be located at a distance of at least five meters from the buildings. Too close to the house, a dug mine can affect the condition of the foundation;
It is necessary to maintain a distance of at least 5 m from other buildings.

Note! The water of a well, too close to the house, can undermine the soil under the foundation. To correct such a misunderstanding is almost impossible, so do not risk it.

  • Sanitary area. The space surrounding the well 50 meters in a circle is considered to be a sanitary zone, which in no case should have neither a landfill nor a drainage channel. If this rule is not observed, water will sooner or later become unsuitable for drinking;
  • Safety. Making the arrangement of the bottom of the well, you should be very careful, because you can stumble on minerals. At the depth, in a narrow mine, it is likely to open the gas pocket, the gas from which in a few seconds will fill the small space of the mine.

In order to prevent this from happening, you must constantly control the atmosphere in the mine with the help of a burning candle. Also, it would be useful to constantly ventilate the shaft with a fan or a conventional vacuum cleaner;

  • When it is necessary to begin construction. Planning to start construction should be in the driest period at the end of summer or at the very beginning of autumn. At other times, you risk quickly getting to the water, the level of which in the dry season can drop significantly, up to the drainage of the well.

Council Do not forget to register a well as a property after construction is completed, otherwise in the future you will lose the opportunity to sell or lease your own plot.

Well construction

If you decide to dig a well with your own hands, you should know that this process can be divided into two stages, such as the construction of a mine and the construction of the bottom of the well.

Well shaft construction

In the photo - the beginning of construction work

This stage of construction is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  • On the territory under construction the marking is done and the digging of the mine begins. For the first stage, it is necessary to dig a hole with a diameter equal to the concrete ring, and in depth it should ensure the immersion of this ring so that the 10-cm product still rises on the surface;
  • With the help of a pre-assembled trolley, a concrete ring for a well is delivered to the construction site and installed in a dug pit. During installation, special attention should be paid to the vertical position of the ring;
Installation method of the second and subsequent construction rings
  • The second ring is immediately installed on the first ring. The design of two rings at the junction is fixed with special brackets;
  • The shaft deepens in the center to a depth of about 80 cm, after which its side walls are digged in such a way that the ring descends evenly and smoothly;
  • The process of deepening the mine should be carried out until such time as water begins to appear in the mine. At the bottom should open at least three keys. Then the water and washed sand must be completely pumped out.

Council You should not even try to continue to dig in the quicksand, this can lead to the fact that the first ring falls below the aquifer of the soil.

The trench should be deepened until water begins to appear in it.

Well bottom arrangement

After the water in the well begins to arrive, and you will see aquifers at the bottom of the pit, a timely question arises as to how to equip the bottom of the well?

Construction of the bottom involves the creation of a filter, which should consist of the following layers:

  • 15-20 cm coarse gravel;
  • 20-40 cm fine washed rubble.

After arranging the bottom, care should be taken to ensure that nothing from the top of your well gets into your well and does not affect the quality of the water.

Top mine must be closed

The construction of a well at its own summer cottage is, of course, a rather complicated procedure, but anyone can cope with such work if desired. And with some of the nuances and peculiarities of doing such construction you will be introduced to the video in this article.
