Borehole head - its application and installation
One of the main tasks facing the owners of country houses and suburban areas is to provide high-quality clean water. Most often, for its solution resort to the arrangement of the well. But at the same time, many owners make one mistake - they pay attention to filtering water from the bottom, and leave the top of the well open, at best, perform a caisson or pit.
This is not enough to fully protect the well from debris falling into it, therefore well heads are used to solve this problem. This article is dedicated to this particular detail.

Why you need a cap
In addition to protecting the well from debris, there are a number of other reasons why you need to install a cap:
- It reliably seals the well;
- Increases debit source;
- Protects the source from groundwater meltwater;
- Reduces the likelihood of freezing wells;
- Provides secure wiring and suspension of the pump.
- Protects water equipment from theft.
- Simplifies the transition from large-diameter pipes to smaller ones.
Of course, for the selection of the product and its installation, you will need knowledge of the well design and installation features.

Types of tips
Headband Material
Despite the fact that there are different types of tips, their basic design is the same, it consists of the following elements:
- Rubber ring;
- Flange;
- Covers.
The main differences of their different types are in the material from which they are made, as well as some additional options.

Most often they are made of:
- Become;
- Cast iron;
- Plastic.
Note! For heavy suspension equipment, which is used for deep wells, plastic products cannot be used, since they can withstand a weight of not more than 200 kg, while metal ones are designed for 500 kg. However, plastic products are also suitable for wells up to 50 meters deep, since the weight of their equipment rarely exceeds 50-100 kg.

Additional options
Today, manufacturers are trying to meet all the needs of consumers.
Therefore, in addition the product may have the following elements:
- Eye bolts;
- The openings intended for input of a power cable, as a rule, they have safety locks from excesses.
- Collet clips and special secret bolts that protect the well from breaking.
Picker selection
Perhaps the main feature that must be considered when choosing a product is its diameter. This feature when choosing is fundamental.
To date, the diameter of casing pipes is selected in accordance with the deep well pump for wells, which will produce water. The price of the product depends, as a rule, on its diameter and material. Cost fluctuates within 90 - 160 mm.
Product marking
For ease of choice, manufacturers encrypt product characteristics in its labeling.
On the market, you can most often find tips from the following manufacturers:
- "Aquarius";
- "Dzhileks";
- "Merrill".

In the name of these products the marking of type -OS 90-110 / 25 is indicated. Plibo OS 133 - 32. Р
It is interpreted as follows:
- OS - an abbreviation of the words: "wellhead".
- 90 - 110 or 133 - means the casing diameters for which the product can be used. Accordingly, type 90-110 marks are universal, designed for pipes of different diameters.
- The last numbers "40, 32 or 25" - indicate the diameter of the adapters for water supply pipes.
- If the title has the letter “P” - then this means that the cap is made of plastic. If the letter "P" in the title is not, then the cap is made of steel or cast iron.
For example, the Aquarius tip OS 100 - 32 is suitable for casing pipes with a diameter of 100 mm and has an adapter for water pipes with a diameter of 32 mm.

Mounting head
It is possible to install this element by yourself. No welding is required for this. The whole process is reduced to clamping the seal ring between the flange and the lid, due to which sealing of the system is achieved.
However, despite all this simplicity of this installation, there are a number of nuances that must be considered.
The instruction is as follows:
- First of all, if necessary, you need to trim the casing. This should be done strictly perpendicular to its vertical axis. If the pipe is metal, then its edges should be primed and coated with paint.
- Then you should put on the pipe flange and rubber sealing ring. It should be noted that the rubber ring is worn with some effort.
- After that, it is necessary to fix the pump cable on the carabiner located under the cover. At the same stage, the power cable located in the cover should be inserted into the inlet opening. In this case, the clamp must be lowered so that the cable can move freely in it.
- Next, you need to fix the pump to the cable and lower it into the well.
- After the pump reaches the required depth, it is necessary and carefully install the cap wellhead. After this, it is necessary to tighten the rubber ring to the cover and press it under the flange. It should be noted that the bolt holes are located opposite each other.
- Then bolts are inserted into the holes and nuts are tightened.
- At the end of the work, from the well you need to pull out the slack cable and connect the pipes to the adapter. This completes the installation work.

Tip! If difficulties arise in fitting the ring to the pipe, the pipe can be lubricated with engine oil.
Conclusion
Despite the fact that the caps have relatively recently appeared on the market, they are an important element, without which it is impossible to equip a well with high quality. In addition, after its installation, you can not worry about the safety of the equipment.
