This type of wells is common in the north of our country in private households. In a different way, the driving well is called the “Abyssinian well”. She received distribution mainly because of the desire of each family to have its own source of drinking water, whereas previously everyone was content with the common.

General information

Today, water is vital for each private farmstead - for a residential house, watering a garden, a bathhouse, and also just for a reserve of life-giving moisture. Usually in the yard they make one well, but in this case two are possible.

Such a tubular well is interesting in that you can make it almost in one day if you prepare all the necessary materials. The cost of construction is low, and the process is as simple as possible, so if you have a good aquifer on the site, this option will be the best for organizing a private water supply. When you have decided to organize the “Abyssinian well”, all the preparatory work can be carried out slowly in the winter. It would be good to also learn in advance from the neighbors the depth at which the water mirror is located in the well, and to see their decks.

Process

Below is a guide on how to score a well with your own hands:

1. Buy 15 m of pipe, preferably stainless O 3/4 or O 1.
2. Make your own hands or order the constituent structures:

• intake filter - the most important element, which is made from the same pipe or from a pipe of larger diameter. The length of the intake is approximately an aquifer; for a good vein, 500 mm is enough, the maximum is 1500 mm;
• cone for intake order a turner, and then weld it to the intake pipe or attach it to the thread.

1. Prepare a stainless steel mesh P52, from non-ferrous metals are not recommended to apply, but everything depends on the chemical composition of the water.

1. Drill numerous holes O 8-10 mm in the pipe along the entire length, placing them in a checkerboard pattern, then wrap it with a grid and solder it along the edge using tin solder. You can also attach it to stainless steel screws with a big hat. To do this, in the pipe along the entire length, drill holes O 2-2.5 mm.

Tip: do not wire the grid, it will practically nothing.

1. Cut the extension tubes into sections of 1.5-2 m, depending on the soil in the area. If it is loose and the pipes go well into it, make them longer.

1. Prepare couplings from steel, for pipes - half-couplings. Sit clutches on linen with paint, FUM tape does not fit.
2. Use for drilling the usual fishing auger, the handle of which needs to be redone. This is the ability to attach additional knees, you should also change the brace to the T-handle. Take the drill out of the hole with your hands, preferably two people, with a passage of up to 6 m. Stop drilling when signs of flowing water appear.
3. Lower the pipe with the intake into the well and hammer it with a wooden beater, better than birch. Use the ladder when the end of the pipe is too high. Drive the water intake into the water horizon with smooth punches. Check its appearance by pouring water into the pipe when it leaves without delay, which means that you are already in the aquifer.
4. Take a hand pump, attach a rubber hose to it and start pumping out water. Especially it will be easy to do when the water mirror is located at a depth of 4-6 m.

1. Examine water for clarity and taste, as well as soaping, let it settle and boil. Good water will be clean, tasty, will not form a film when settling and do not give precipitation. It is better, of course, to take it to the laboratory for chemical analysis.

If you do not like the water, continue to hammer the pipes on. At the same time, do not forget to monitor the depth and periodically check for the presence of an aquifer by pouring water.

When you find water in the lower layers, the water mirror will align with the first water horizon, and the selection itself will be from level 2-3. In this way, you can hammer a well on almost 14-15 meters, but then it will be almost unreal.

When the water mirror is set at a level of 9 m from the surface, in order to reach it, you can dig a foundation pit two to three meters deep. You will get a pit that will not allow the well to freeze in the winter if it is warmed.

Arrangement

When water is found, it is necessary to move on to the next stage - the arrangement of the well, in order to begin its operation in full. Adjust the height of the pipe under the level that is convenient for you to connect the pump. At the same time on the last knee should be the thread that connects the hoses and non-return valve.

If the well is not in operation in winter, the latter must be removed. Connect the water pumping station or pump after the check valve through a high pressure hose or pipe.

Tip: if after a while the pressure of the water decreases, most likely, the grid is blocked on the intake. Then you pull the pipe out of the well to clean it or replace it.

The water in the well may disappear due to changes in the aquifer horizon, as this thing is not constant. In this case, you will have to turn to a company that is engaged in deep drilling and for the well, you will need a casing pipe.

New technologies

Some companies offer interesting solutions related to drilling wells, which can be attributed to one-time ones. In this case, not metal pipe is used, but metal-plastic pipe, the price of which is much cheaper.

But, since it is impossible for her to break through the ground because of its softness, a composite reusable carbon steel rod is used for driving. Perform intake in the usual way, however, at the base of the tip make a tapered recess for the stop of the drive rod.

A metal-plastic elbow is attached to the intake through the coupling, the structure is lowered into the drilled well, and a driving rod is inserted into the pipe, which rests against the conical recess of the intake. Then an anvil is screwed on it and the intake is hammered through the steel rod.

When the level of the aquifer is reached, the core is removed and the pipe is attached to the pump. The cost of such a well is less than the standard stainless pipe.
