Du50 ball valve: options, sizes, features
A ball valve Dn50 can be used as a stop valve for transportation through pipelines and storage in tanks of various liquids and gases. Such devices differ in the way of fastening, which can be flanged, coupling and welded (soldering), and the materials of manufacture, where steel, brass, polyethylene and polypropylene are used.
Different locking devices may have their technical characteristics and differ from each other in these indicators, which will be discussed below. And also your attention will be offered a thematic demonstration of the video in this article.
Stop valves DN 50 mm
Note. If you look at the label, the ball valve 50 mm usually has an additional abbreviation in the designation. For example, in front of millimeters there are letters Doo or Dn - and one and the other means conditional or outer diameter. And here, if you meet the abbreviation of KSHTsP (instead of P may be F, M or K), then this will mean that you have a full-welded ball-type ball valve (flanged, coupling or combined) in front of you.
Common parameters
- Shut-off valves with flange, welded (for welding) and coupling connection are usually made in the range of DN from 15 to 500 mm, which is designed for a nominal pressure (Ru) from 1.6 to 4.0 MPa.
- In most cases, cranes with such dimensions (Dn 50) are used in industrial, industrial and public buildings, pipelines pumping oil products, water and gas, as well as in tanks for their storage. However, locking devices with such dimensions are installed with their own hands and in everyday life, for example, with autonomous heating for risers, boilers or in tanks for storing water and diesel fuel.
- The manufacture of valves and fittings is carried out in accordance with GOST 21345-78 and GOST 28343-89, as well as in accordance with TU 04671406-003-98. For regions with a temperate and cold climate, certification is carried out according to UHL GOST 15150 of the GOSGORTEKHNADZOR of Russia.
Product overview
Such cranes are usually made of steel Art. 20, 09G2s and 1218N10T, while the maximum working pressure (Ru) remains unchanged - from 1.6 MPa to 4.0 MPa. Methods of installation (connection) may vary depending on the configuration, so it can be KShTsF, KShTsP, KShTsM or KShTsK.

Note. Polyethylene devices are used for underground installation.
Combined cranes are not much different from coupling valves, however, as well as their price, only KShTsK can also have an American, fitting or filter instead of external pipe threads and then their cost increases.
Polypropylene devices are extremely popular for plumbing and heating circuits for autonomous heating - in most cases it is now that metal is preferred by PPR and this is not surprising. Such units are able to withstand operating temperatures up to 100? C and operating pressures up to 10 bar, which is quite enough for normal conditions. Docking of similar devices with the pipeline is performed by soldering or welding with a special soldering iron.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it should be said that in everyday life you can mainly use brass KShTsM and KShTSK, as well as polypropylene solder taps. You can always install them yourself, if this will follow the instructions from the manufacturer.
