What are caissons

Ready-made caissons, which are sold by specialized firms, can be of any shape and are made of various materials. The sleeve itself is usually cylindrical in shape, but if the device is made of metal, it is more expedient that the design be in the form of a rectangular box made using a welding machine.

They can also be plastic, metal and reinforced concrete. They can be made by hand, significantly saving at the same time.

Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Plastic:

• durable;
• low cost;
• installation does not require the use of additional equipment and labor.

Metal:

• material is quite expensive;
• has an average lifetime, as it is subject to corrosive formations;
• the structure cannot be installed alone, as it is heavy.

Reinforced concrete:

• durable;
• there is difficulty in installation and installation because of the large weight - a truck crane or a winch is required;
• when high groundwater flow can be washed and destroyed.

Unlike plastic and metal caisson, reinforced concrete has a high output cost, as you will have to pay not only for the rings, but also their installation.

As a result, the caisson must stand in the pit so that between its walls and the ground of the pit there is an empty space, and the device itself rises above the ground.

Its cover should remain elevated from the ground to avoid dirt entering the cylinder.

Next, the tank is lowered vertically on wooden bars, and all pipes are laid through special nipples. After passing an electric cable through one of the pipes, the voids around the device and on top are filled with sand-concrete mixture or sand.
