How to repair the crane-box with your hands: competent
Valves for water taps are mainly of three types - a ball system, a plastic cartridge and a crane. But in this case we are interested in how to fix the crane to the axle box and in what cases it is possible at all.
This mechanism may differ slightly in size and selection of parts, although the principle of its operation in any case remains unchanged - it blocks the water supply with a rubber valve and regulates the power flow.

Let's try to understand this in more detail and see a thematic demonstration of the video in this article.
Installation and repair of valves
Device

In the upper image, you basically see how to disassemble a crane with a ceramic pair. Such models are used for the so-called semi-fast cranes, although in fact the lamb there scrolls almost 360 ?.
The whole mechanism consists of individual parts, this is a rod, which is fixed by a lock washer or a bracket, so as not to fall down in a fixed case. Next comes a silencer, a ceramic pair, in which one part is stationary and the other rotates, and finally, a rubber ring, which performs part of the function of a stop valve along with a ceramic pair.

The device of the mixer for a sink with a worm gear is very similar to the above. But here the rod rotates not in one place, but with the help of a worm gear can rise up and fall down, thereby pressing the rubber gasket against the water supply hole.
In this case, the entire responsibility for the power of the jet, as well as its complete overlap, lies only on the rubber washer, which is inserted into the seat in the form of a cup holder and pressed against the bolt. To fully open this type of faucet, you will need to make up to 10 turns of the lamb (depending on the thickness of the gasket) and the same amount in order to turn off the water.
Note. The reasons for the fact that the crane of the bush is leaking may be several and the main one is the abrasion of the rubber gasket (ring). In addition, you may have a locknut under the valve that is poorly clamped or the housing along with parts may slag up due to hard water or the thread of the worm gear may wear out.
Trouble-shooting

- So, if the crane-crank valve is flowing, then first of all try to tighten the lock-nut on the faucet body - this may be the main reason, especially for mechanisms with a worm gear. But this kind of malfunction is quite rare, therefore, we are now interested in how to remove the faucet bush and for this, first of all, you will need an adjustable wrench for the lock nut and a screwdriver for the lamb.
- First you need to turn off the water on the highway (before the water meter) and unscrew the locknut, but it can scroll along with the axle box, so do not remove the lamb until you remove the locknut. In the middle of the lamb there is always a decorative cap-cap that covers the bolt - you need to remove it and you will see a bolt head, in which, most likely, a slot for an ordinary (minus) screwdriver. After such manipulations (the lock nut and bolt were removed from the lamb), the instruction allows you to pull the bush out for examination and repair (replacement).
Note. If, after removing the lock nut, you do not unscrew the faucet of the axle box, then take a closer look, there may be an additional retaining ring that holds the mechanism in the mixer housing.

- To repair the crane of the axle box after its dismantling, you will have to remove the retaining ring holding the rod in one position and to do this, pry one of the ends with a screwdriver and pull upwards - the ring will come off. Be careful - the ring springs and if you pull it, it can fly off to the side and you either will not find it, or spend a lot of time searching.

- We continue to consider how to repair the crane to the axle box and let's try to remove the ceramic pair together with the rod - most likely, it will not be quite easy, since it is slagged (salt deposition from water). To facilitate the process, simply tap the screwdriver handle on the rod, knocking it out of the case - after 5-6 light strokes, the insides will move and come out.

- On the stock, you will most likely see lime deposits, which must be cleaned with your own hands - for this you can use a kitchen knife or a screwdriver. So that it is easily turned in the case, as it was from the very beginning, when the mechanism was still new, you need to lubricate the two rubber rings on the stem, using any kind of grease type lubricant for this.

- Rubber gasket, which performs the function of a locking mechanism, undoubtedly flattened, so you need to set it aside a little further, and for this there are two ways.
- First, you can stick two or three layers of electrical tape on top of a ceramic pair., as shown in the top photo - ceramics will move a little further from the stem, which will compensate for the flattening of rubber.
- Secondly, under the rubber ring, you can substitute a ring of copper wire with a cross section of 0.5-1 mm or thicker - the effect will be the same.
- The sink faucet is assembled in the reverse order and the repair price is always less than the cost of a new faucet box.
Conclusion
If you are interested in how to change the faucet bush in the kitchen or in the bathroom, then you will need to perform the same dismantling actions as described above. After you remove the device, go with it to the store and only this way you will be able to find a suitable replacement in the parameters.
