Independent installation of the pumping station in the well
The arrangement of a country house, as a rule, has some difficulties, as far from everywhere there is a centralized water supply, and if there is, the water is supplied on certain days. However, this problem can be solved with the help of a well, extracting water from it by a pump station.

To organize an autonomous water supply at home in this way, you can even independently. Next, we consider the features of this system and tell you how to install a pumping station in the well, because it will not only save the family budget for the services of specialists, but also space on the site or in the house, as the equipment will be located inside the well.
The device and the principle of operation of the pump
As a rule, the depth of the wells in the suburban areas does not exceed 10 meters. In this case, there is no need to install an expensive submersible pump. The pump station will cope with this task, the price of which is much lower (read also the article Connecting a pump station to a well: tips on organizing a water supply system).
However, before installing a pumping station in a well, it is necessary to figure out what it is and what it consists of.

So, its main functional units consist of the following equipment:
- The centrifugal surface pump, which provides transportation of water from the well to the house.
- The accumulator, which stabilizes the pressure in the system when the pump is turned on and off.
- The pressure switch responsible for this indicator in the system. If the pressure drops below the norm, then the relay starts the pump, if the norm is reached, the pump is turned off.
- Pressure gauge - a device for measuring pressure, allowing adjustment of the relay.
- The water intake system, which has a check valve located in the well or the pump itself.
- Highway connecting the pump and water intake.

Installation of pumping station
Why is it better to place the station in the well
At first glance it may seem that there is more than enough space for installation of equipment - for this you can adapt any corner in the house. But, in reality, the situation is quite different, since only a competent arrangement of equipment can guarantee its uninterrupted and full-fledged work.
For this reason, the following conditions must be met:
- The proximity of the location to the well, which will ensure a stable suction of water.
- Equipment must be kept in a warm, dry and ventilated room.
- The place where the station will be located should not be close, as from time to time it is necessary to carry out preventive or even repair work.
- The room should be soundproof, as the water-pumping equipment emits a certain noise during operation.
Most often for installation of equipment use the following places:
- The boiler room on the territory of the house is an excellent platform for installation of equipment. However, with poor sound insulation, the pump will be constantly audible.
- Also for these purposes often use a basement or a cellar. However, this option should be designed even when building a house. If the basement is not heated and the walls and the floor are not insulated, then it will take a lot of time and money to prepare it with your own hands.
- A special platform near the well, recessed into the ground is a good option, but the main thing is to correctly determine the optimal depth of the site.
All of these options in one way or another require the expenditure of effort and financial resources, while in the well itself there is a lot of free space. Why not use them? To do this, you only need to perform a special platform that will be attached to the wall of the well on the brackets.

Installing a pumping station in a well complies with all the above requirements, except for one thing - the inconvenience of access to equipment. However, it is easy to cope with this problem, for example, using a small stationary ladder, which you can go down into the well for an inspection or to perform minor repairs of equipment.
Note! To place the equipment in the well, it is necessary to warm its upper part, for example, to make a wooden house above it.
Pipeline Installation and Installation
As a rule, the well is located not far from the house. In order for the water supply system to work without interruptions, it is necessary to ensure unhindered access of water from the source to the points of consumption. The water supply system is responsible for this, the installation of which must be approached very responsibly.
The fact is that winter frosts can cause the main line to freeze, so the pipes should be laid to a depth below the ground freezing level. Otherwise, you should perform warming of the water supply.

Installation instructions are as follows:
- First of all, it is necessary to dig trenches, having foreseen a small bias towards the well.
- Then in the foundation and the wall of the well it is necessary to make a hole at the optimum depth.
- Opposite the hole in the wall of the well mounted platform for installation of equipment.
- Next, the pipe is laid.
- The pumping station always has legs-supports, which must be fixed on the platform with anchor bolts. Otherwise, the equipment may be at the bottom of the well due to the constant vibration.
- After that, the pipeline must be connected to the equipment installed on the site in the well.
Sometimes in the process of arranging the line there is a problem associated with a high level of groundwater location. In this case, the pipes must be installed above the critical level and protected from cold by thermal insulating material.
Tip! For thermal insulation of pipes laid above the ground freezing, you can use an inexpensive and at the same time environmentally friendly material - mineral wool, made on a basalt basis.

Equipment connection
After the installation of the pipeline, it is necessary to properly equip the water intake pipe. For this, on its outer side a metal mesh is fixed, which serves as a coarse water filter. It is needed to protect equipment from failure.
In addition, you must install a check valve. This part ensures stable filling of the pipe with water.
If you do not install this part, the pipe will be empty, respectively, the pump will not be able to pump water. The check valve can be fixed from the outside by the coupling.
Further work order is as follows:
- After the equipment is installed and secured, the end of the pipe with a valve is lowered into the well.
- Then connect the suction hose to the pump. For this, an external thread coupling can be used. At the same time, on the back of the hose should also be placed a check valve.
- The final step is to connect the pump to the water supply.
Tip! To seal joints, they must be sealed. Flax winding is usually used as a sealant, over which a special sealing paste is applied.

After connecting the pumping station to the water supply and water intake system, it is necessary to test the quality of its work. To do this, the pump must be filled with water through a special hole, filling the hydroaccumulator and highways as well. After starting the engine, the water will fill the system until a certain pressure is set, after which the pump will turn off.
In some cases, the relay needs to be adjusted so that the pump is turned on and off at optimum pressure.
Conclusion
Installing a pumping station in the well is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. Of course, the work must be done very carefully, but it will not cause any special difficulties. If all actions are performed correctly, in accordance with all the requirements that we considered above, the system over the years will provide you with the necessary amount of water (see also the article Pump for cleaning a well: drainage of a silted source).
