What could be the shower seat
A stand-alone (built-in) or folding seat for a shower can always be needed by older people or people with disabilities when bathing, for whom it is too exhausting to stand on throughout the procedure. The industry has long paid attention to this and therefore shower cubicles and boxes with deep pallets, the configuration of which provides a projection in the form of an integrated high chair, appeared on the market.
But for this purpose you can also use various plastic folding benches, which will not take up much space in the bathroom, but fulfill their function - all of this below, and in addition to the material - the video in this article.

What to sit in the shower
Types of seats
Note. If you need a shower, of course, you can use an ordinary wooden stool, but it will not be enough for a long time, since the wood will swell up and it will loosen (play on the joints). The only wood from which folding chairs are made and it is suitable for permanent water treatment is bamboo.

- First of all, it should be noted that a stationary seat of any type in a box, booth or just indoors under a spray can can be only if it is installed on the floor or basement, and also if there are rigid walls or partitions for this. The essence of this requirement comes down to the fact that the base to which such a high chair is mounted or installed should not just withstand the weight of a person - there should also be a margin of safety, since the load increases significantly as the body moves.
- Such seats can be integrated, that is, be part of a pallet (a pallet with a special configuration, as in the first photo in the article), or tightly bolted to a wall or partition with bolts and / or dowels. The design of the latest devices depends, first of all, on your imagination, although there are folding models on sale, which you will only have to fix to the wall using anchor dowels (in some situations gas or electric welding is possible).

- If you do not have the opportunity to install a folding or simply stationary seat on the wall (the base is not sufficiently rigid or there is simply no time for it or the right tool), then you can buy a plastic stool in the store, which is very convenient to use.. To begin with, the plastic is not afraid of water, therefore, you will not have to dry it after each wash, the design itself will not take up much space - you can simply lean it or hang it on the wall, it will easily withstand 150 kg of vertical load, and the price of this The stool is quite democratic.
- Of course, there are many other options for folding chairs that differ from the one shown in the top photo - these are structures with a cloth (canvas) top, ottomans and even chairs, but they are all more suitable for a country house or for fishing, but not for permanent watering.. You can also find wooden sliding structures of this type, but any instruction will recommend you to protect such a product from moisture and moisture, therefore, in the shower it has no place.
Note. If you came across a shower with a seat and a low tray, this means not a cabin, which also means a wall of the room as its fence, but a shower box, where a high chair is attached to its wall, but not to the pallet.
How to strengthen the seat on the wall

If you want to fix the folding or any other seat to the wall, then you will certainly need anchor bolts or dowels that can withstand the load that will be placed on them, especially since it will be torn.
Actually, the word anchor, translated from German, means an anchor and the purpose of the fastening material here fully corresponds to the name, that is, the mass held is fixed on the anchor, which clings to the thickness of the wall or partition. In this case, anchors are called molly-type steel structures, as in the top photo, or fastening bolts with large-sized plastic dowels. (See also the article Polycarbonate shower: features.)

Whichever of these fastenings you install the seat on, in any case you will have to make a hole in the wall according to the diameter of a plastic or steel fastener - as a rule, it is 12-16 mm.
The hole itself is quite simple to do this - you can use a punch with a drill of the desired thickness, but the problem may arise because of the stiffness of the wall, for example, if there is loose plaster, the hole is usually broken and turns out to be 2-3 mm larger than required diameter of anchor.
There is a way out, of course, firstly, the bolt must be long enough, at least 20-30 cm, to increase the adhesion area and, secondly, the drilling can be started with a smaller diameter drill bit (1-2 mm), and then, having reached a solid foundation (brick), change it to the desired thickness. (See also the article Shower tray for the garden: features.)

It should be noted that it is better to use steel anchors only in soft plasters, as they open up with a fungus and, compacting the massif, keep well in the wall. If it is concrete or cement-sand plaster, then such fastening will be unreliable - it simply will not catch and here plastic dowels that seal the hole along the entire length of the cut are best.
Conclusion
Of course, you can fix the seat in the shower with your own hands, if you have a suitable tool for this. But do not forget that the load exerted on the hanging structure will be much more than the weight of the person who will use it.
